How artillery will ruin your whole afternoon
By Donald Sensing
If you ever wonder what it is like to come under artillery fire (and I will tell you first hand that it sucks), then wonder no more. Here is a video by the Finnish army. I do not know the caliber they are firing, but judging from the use of semi-fixed (cannister propellant) ammunition and the size of the howitzer, I am guessing 120-122mm projectile.
And the impacts are too large for something smaller, say 105mm. That would mean that the casualty radius to unwarned, exposed personnel would be at least 50 meters, or almost 8,000 square meters, from one impact.
