I went online to nccourts.gov, it states clearly that one can use a "terminal" at your local courthouse to see your own criminal check, and you can pay to print it. otherwise it is 25$ for a "certified" check. i have a clean record and would like to have a copy on file to show my customers. i dont need a certified copy. the folks at the courthouse just laughed at me when i asked how i could get a copy without paying the 25$. all online services are 20$ or more. does anyone know how to get a cheap copy?

I've never heard of being able to see it and opting to pay or not. Most places will have you go to either the clerks of court office or the police station, pay the fee, and get a copy of it
