I try to keep my garden as weed free as time allows. Weeding is slightly therapeutic and can be fun if you drink.

I've had 2 of these hoes for 5 years now. Had to buy one for the wife. They're costly for a hoe but they are very light and very long. You can actually stand straight up and use this tool. It makes a great difference in the way your back will feel after cultivating your crops.

It's not a chopper, but for sharpshooting weeds I don't think it can be beat and it's a pleasure to use after you get used to it.

Gardeners supply has some good products. Here is another company that has some high quality gardening tools as well as some top-notch woodworking tools.

Gardeners supply also has a nifty on-line tool. In the upper left hand corner you see a little tomato icon that says "Kitchen Garden Planner" click on that and you can put in the dimensions of your container and it will let you click and drag veggies into your container and it will show how many you can get in each square foot. That is, keeping in mind that some things cannot be contained practically in a square foot, squash for example. However, it could be handy for carrots, lettuce, radishes etc for the newbie container gardener.
Thanks for the hoe tip by the way. I may need to check into that.
No, not that kind of hoe! LOL!
