Check out Marstar Canada and you'll see all kinds of cool stuff available. Canada does have some strict gun laws, but they do not have a small arms embargo against China the way the US does. In Canada, you can actually purchase AR-15's made by Norinco.
Edit: And the cool thing about that ammo in the OP's pic, is that's more than likely steel core. Canada doesn't have a ban on steel core 7.62x39 like the US does.

Funny thing is, you won't see AK's because they are banned outright. But VZ-58's are available, but are "restricted", same as the Norinco AR-15's. However, the Norinco M-14 isn't listed as restricted, and is only $429!
