Presented for your inspection the timeless Jennings J22 .22LR semiautomatic pistol. Jennings went out of business in 2003 but not before producing hundreds of thousands of the cheapest throw down guns you’ll ever see. I purchased this Jennings new under Bill Clinton’s reign at a gun shown in Roanoke VA. Not sure why I bought it, might have been the Mexican food I are in Salem VA an hour or so before. Anyhow, I’m the only owner, shot it sparingly, which is probably why it still functions flawlessly today.

Maybe you're a low-end gun collector or just have a soft spot for the J22, well, here's your chance to own a priceless treasure, probably about as a cherry a J22 as you're likely to find. This gun comes in the original blue cardboard box (some sticker rash), original plastic gun bag, second magazine, and original instruction leaflet. According to the box the gun has a nickel finish and I'd say that accurately describes about how much it would have cost to plate the parts. This gun functions flawlessly and is in excellent shape, seriously, it goes bang when the trigger is squeezed and loads most .22LR cartridges without a problem.

Price is $110; $60 for the gun and $50 for my trouble of having to move it out of the way in my gun room for the last 20 years. As usual, all laws apply and I need a copy of your CCW or pistol permit and a look at your DL. I can meet you at the Bass Pro Shops parking lot on Harrison / 40 8am to 4pm M-F, or, we can do a transfer at Gun N' Gear in Cary just a couple miles away.

Come on now folks, don't be shy about adding a unique piece to your collection. You don't need to tell anyone you bought it either, just like that moped you keep stashed around back and ride when nobody is paying attention because it's fun!

Hi Folks,

I've been asked about CLT a few times but no, I rarely travel to CLT and have no plans in the near future to do so. These inexpensive guns are hard to move. It's difficult to get motivated to get off the couch and answer the doorbell for $100, so, for me it'll need to be a local Cary meet up if you'd like to get the little guy.

My experience with them has been all positive. I used to sell quite a few of them back in the early 90's...(think dealer price was around $25 then and only made about $5-$10 per). But I enjoyed shooting the hell out of them. Me and my LEO bro-in-law used to have contests to see who could cut saplings in-two first with the guns. Just plain fun. We easily put 2000 rnds thru them without a issue. Good luck with the sale.

Wow, far cheaper than I'd read about the wholesale cost. I'd read they cost the dealer $49 and typical retail was $69 netting $20 per gun. I paid $69 plus tax for this one back in the mid-90s, maybe a high price!

Prices on everything went up after Bill Clinton got into office.
There was a concerted effort to reduce the number of FFL holders, then came "Brady" and the "Assault Weapons" Ban, etc.
Some of you may remember the mantra they used to drum up public outrage and gain support:
"There are more FFL license holders in this country than Gas Stations". Never understood that myself since I felt we could use more of both.
Subsequently FFL holders dropped significantly due to pressure from the ATF.

Good luck with your sale.
These are fun little guns.

I bought one new in the late 80s from an FFL friend who charged $10 over his cost and I paid $50 ( I still have mine, it's shiny chrome with rosewood grips)
