Tried to buy that one myself just the other day. Good luck. The owner is not the easiest individual to deal with. Couldn't get a purchase number out of him. The "customized" front strap won't help value wise, as well as no box. I'm sure he's hoping to trade into something $1k++++++. Just my .02

If he told you something $1K you were able to get more out of him than I could. I couldn't get a straight answer out of him on anything I asked. If a series one Kimber which that one is is what your looking for there was a very nice series one Custom Stainless at Colfax Gun and ammo for $700.00 that was 98+% with the original box and all papers. If it's still there come Friday I'll probably go try and get it myself.

Ive bought two in the last year the blued one 650, the stainless 700, not tuned and no Wilson internals, but 1000 seems a bit high, had a three pound trigger added to the blued model, think that was 65.00. think 800 or 850 would be a premium price, but that's just my opinion

Way too much without having some sort of pedigree on the work. The finish mismatch between the frame and slide raises questions on what exactly the frame is: stainless, in the white, or plated? Is the slide original to that frame? Etc.

I would value a factory, stock Series I gun over that one without knowing more, or at least being able to inspect it myself.

I agree completely about the lack of pedigree and value, but note that the blue slide over a stainless or plated frame has been considered a good look for a custom 1911 for many years. I don't know about this specific gun, but I'm sure that Kimber has produced guns with this look.

I would steer clear of custom work done without paperwork as to who did it. Just my .02. I agree with others. 850 max. 1000 is a big stretch and sounds more like owner isn't interested in actually selling.

Most of the duotone ones are custom2 the series eighty guns,in the classic custom the blue is the most common and the stainless a little harder to find, if this was a classic custom in factory duotone it would be a rarer model, not saying they didn't make it in duotone, just I've never saw one, but even if it was a clacksmas gun, value wouldn't be there because it's in not in original condition
