Liscense question

So for the first time in my life, I've decided I want to try hunting this year. Took the hunters safety course last week, and got the card in the mail today.

My question is, which liscense do I need?

http://www.ncwildlife.org/Licensing/HuntingFishingTrappingLicenses/ResidentLicenses.aspx

Above lists all the different liscense types.

Do I need only the "Sportsman" Liscense, or just the "combination hunting and fishing"? Do I have to buy "tags" to hunt deer, or do they come with the liscense?

Highly unlikely I'll be doing any coastal fishing if that matters, but I do fish.

This is all new to me, so forgive me if these are silly questions...but I do need answers. :)

Not silly if you don't know.

If you plan on fishing, get the combined sportsman license. It generally works out better.

NC doesn't use a "tag" system in the traditional sense. You will get a card with your license that shows the number of deer you can harvest in each zone. It is pretty simple really.

The Sportsman License covers hunting AND fishing (except saltwater) and also allows you to hunt/fish on Game Land. The only other thing you would need would be a Federal Duck stamp IF you decide to hunt ducks. $40.00 + 15.00 and you're golden....
