If you plan on fishing, get the combined sportsman license. It generally works out better.

NC doesn't use a "tag" system in the traditional sense. You will get a card with your license that shows the number of deer you can harvest in each zone. It is pretty simple really.

 

I don't see an option for "combined sportsman".

It lists as follows:

1) Combination Hunting and Inland Fishing (basic)

2) Sportsman

3) Unified Sportsman/Coastal Recreational Fishing

So I assume you mean I just need option 2, "Sportsman"?

 

get the sportsman. it covers everythign you will need. it is actually cheaper that way i think than just getting the hunting license and big game and all that.

the sportsman is what i have always been told to get.

The Sportsman License covers hunting AND fishing (except saltwater) and also allows you to hunt/fish on Game Land. The only other thing you would need would be a Federal Duck stamp IF you decide to hunt ducks. $40.00 + 15.00 and you're golden....
