Hey guys. I know I'm new here and all but I have to say I am indebted to all of you for the knowledge base and info that I have gleaned. I do have a request or question. And please let me know if this is out of line. I work in the film industry here in Wilmington. A conservative in a liberal world let me tell ya! But there are a lot of us here that are in line to lose our jobs as the higher ups want to kill legislation that has brought the film industry and it's money to NC. There are quite a few productions here in Wilmington, Charlotte, Asheville, Greensboro, all over the state. Not only do we bring the revenue from the film/tv but also all of the small businesses that we all support. Hotels, car rentals, transportation companies, construction companies and businesses and the list goes on. If the legislation doesn't get renewed then all of that money will go elsewhere I.e. Georgia, Louisiana, New Mexico and other places and it will force a couple thousand people to uproot and move or find other work. This industry creates a lot of jobs and opportunities for a lot of people and without the money we bring in, I believe last year was $300M+, I'm
afraid the states economy is going to falter as well. I'm just wondering if it would be ok to post a petition that has been going around that will end up on the desks of our state senators and lawmakers, so that anyone that wishes can sign it. I was born here and I love this state and what it has and I don't want to see it falter. We've already lost one show that is going into its 4th season to Louisiana. And I'm afraid the show I work on will be soon to follow. If this is inappropriate then I humbly apologize profusely. I'm just asking. Thanks again to everyone here. Y'all rock!
The link is in post #10. For those of you that sign, my sincerest thanks. For those that don't, no worries. I appreciate you reading my post. Cheers.
