I don't think I have EVER written as many letters to my representatives as I have in the last 3 months. Here is what I have written to my Mayor and I hope other will do the same.

PS I am not an activist, I'm just really mad over the gun control debate.

Dear Mayor Perkins,

I would like you to rethink your membership to Mayor Bloomberg's "Mayors Against Illegal Guns".

Although the title sounds comforting, its agenda is just another attack on my Second Amendment rights. Just the association with Mayor Bloomberg is scary enough considering his vision where the "Nanny State" dictates the size soda you can buy, sale of tobacco products and so on...

The Gun Control debate that is going on in this country will do nothing to prevent the tragic events that have polarized this country on yet another issue. Prosecuting law breakers will have a profound affect on illegal gun sales, not burdening the law abiding citizen.

Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,

I was surprised Charlotte's mayor wasn't on it. Could it be he's concerned about his re-election? In case yall haven't looked there are only 3 in SC- obviously less cities, I know, but yall did elect Kay Hagan. Down south here we need to get rid of Lindsey Graham, for sure- I wrote him and got the same ol' typical "I support the 2nd but let me talk about Benghazi...."

This is what happens when northern libtards relocate to NC and get elected to office. No offense to our fine members here who have moved down south joined the freedom loving native folks and have a functioning brain, but how these carpetbagers get elected in our state is beyond my ability to reason. I guess we are just getting over-run and out voted in our own state. Its a sad fact.

Yeah they move south because they like to "get away" from the way things are up there and then start pushing to change it to like it is where they came from! If you don't like our system...GO BACK!!!!!!! And that includes our country too!!! Somewhere in Kenya a village is missing it's idiot!

A little off track, but I think it justly describes the firearm sentiment in Chapel Hill.

I live in Chapel Hill (sorry, it's job related). Last week I felt adventurous and wore my "My burgular alarm is a Smith and Wesson" tee shirt as I shopped in Whole Foods. You would have thought I was in my birthday suit as EVERYONE stared as I flagrently wandered the aisles. Obviously I'm a deranged, rifle toting danger.;guntoot

The only reason I was staring was to remember the shirt so I could get one. :)
