I had a Kawasaki KLR 650 a few years ago but wanted something lighter and found this 2003.

I used to have a 650L myself, was a wheelie machine.

Was always a 4 wheel guy myself, but why not one of the more modern 450's? Wanting lighter, and considering their power vs the older 650's, they would seem like a great way to go.

You're killin me, Tim. I want another bike so bad I can taste it. The XR series has been a family favorite for years.

    Nice bike!

    Thanks Terry!

Jerz, I've had the lighter 450 but it was just dirt only... wanted something street legal that rides trails nicely.

    Have a nice 4-wheeler too.

Nice thumper but not many trials around here are fun long on that beast as no where to stretch its legs. Now desert trails would be a blast.

I test-rode an XR650 on some fire trails in West KY. Too much bike for those trails, so I settled on a KTM250EXC...

Got passed (lapped) by him more than once. He made it look easy with a big heavy bike in tight woods

Summers blew past me at an Illinois hare scramble.

    Four times.
