Quick question guys, I'm about to efile my first form 1. I know I need to have my fingerprints on hand to send in upon filing. Do the local sheriff's office (or CCBI in my case, being in Wake County) use the correct fingerprint cards the ATF need? Or is there a better/easier way to get the finger prints done? I wish the silencer shop kiosks could do form 1s already. Thanks in advance!

Order the cards from the atf. (Free)

    Go buy an ink pad

    Roll them yourself

    Send off the paperwork

Don't these have to be witnessed by a LEO or something?

Yes, there is a line on the card that needs to provide a name of who took the prints, etc. Yes you can order the cards from ATF and yes agencies use the same cards that you get from the ATF. Some agencies use what is called Afis. It is a laser fingerprint scanner. By using Afis the printing can be done in a matter of minutes with no mess.

Can anyone with experience doing their own finger printing send me a PM? Mainly regarding what needs to go on the agency line on the form. Thanks!

I used CCBI, no hassles. Make an appt or walk in. $15 for the first set, $5 each additional.
