My NFA dealer said that with a shotgun SBS the barrel could be whatever length that you submit on the paperwork but that the stock couldn't be made into a pistol grip. Please help me with info on this as I'm confused now. Thanks.

You should check with BigWaylon he knows all about this stuff. Not sure how much he is on here but he is a mod on the other board.

I don't know anything about that. That would be news to me if it's true, but I don't believe it is.

The legal definition of a SBS is (18 USC §921(a)(6)):

I took a shotgun, and I made the barrels less than 18 inches and the overall length less than 26 inches. I don't see anything in there about "no pistol grips" or anything like that.

^^ That's the first pic I've seen of the Scorpion that I actually like that handguard. I bet it is a lot lighter than the OEM one though!

EDIT: also, I see you haven't replaced your sites either. I think I am going with the Troy micro HK style, but dang they are expensive!

I wouldn't say it's too much lighter than the standard handguard due to the mounting hardware underneath. The 5" barrel makes a big difference in weight though.

I like the standard sights and don't plan on changing them as I've spent enough $ on this build already haha. They don't cowitness with the MRO (what I prefer) and with the QD mount I can pull the MRO off easily to use the irons.

I took it to the range yesterday and it shoots like an absolute dream suppressed and unsuppressed!

What's involved in installing the shorter barrel? Is machining or a gunsmith required? That looks awesome, would like to do something similar.

Since the company provides a new trunnion already staked and machined it didn't need any smithing. You need a barrel nut wrench to remove the stock handguard. I couldn't get it off with a normal wrench. Got mine from HBI for $25. Id lend mine out for shipping cost since I don't need it anymore. Then you just need the right size hex bit to disassemble the receiver and a inch pound torque wrench to reinstall. Various roll pins involved also.

There are companies that will remove your barrel, shorten and reinstall to the trunnion properly, but my factory barrel and trunnion were misaligned so I needed a new one anyway. But you wouldn't get the built in 3 lug mount which I really wanted.

Lord of War..."Boondock Saints"...LOVE that flick!!! Wife is from Ireland been here a long time, but the Irish REALLY comes out when this redneck agitates her. Nice Beretta too! That an Omega 9K?

    Here's a pic of my 3 additions.

First pic is of my 2 Hybrids, one on a franken 300 BLK pistol the other on a FN FNP 45 tactical (it now rides on an XDm 45) and a Sparrow 22 on a Ruger SR22. Second pic is of a Hybrid on my Savage 10FP (please ignore the junky backyard...). LOVE my cans!!

Just got the SBR paperwork back and looking for someone to engrave. Came across Tarheel State on here and planning on giving them a call so I can build her up. IMG_5109.jpg IMG_5115.jpg

I was hoping someone would figure out the Boondock Saints reference! Yes, that's an Omega 9K. When it's not attached to the Beretta it resides on my CZ Scorpion Evo3 S1 SBR via a tri-lug quick detach setup. Tarheel State has done all of my engraving and they do an excellent job. You've got some cool pieces there in the pics. I've got a Silencerco Osprey 45 suppressor I'm waiting for. I just started the process so it looks like it will be 12 months or longer now before she comes home with me. : ( At least that gives me awhile to come up with the funds needed to purchase the USP45 Tactical I plan to run her on. Going to look for a good used one when I have the dough.

Excellent Lord of War!!! How do you like it? Filed all my paperwork before the reg change and was really hoping to get 9K, but couldn't find one in time. Hopefully HPA or SHUSH will come through soon (though I'm not holding my breath) and I can acquire the 9K for my PPQ threaded and my 300BLK.

Thanks for the confirmation of Tarheel. Have a buddy that wants some engraving as well so I'll pass it on to him.

I like my Omega9k. I don't have any larger 9mm cans to compare it to however. I'm sure larger ones suppress a little better.
