I brought Hunger Games MJ1&2 to China.
Just realized that her arrows are fletched with compound vanes.
Correct me if I'm wrong. But it was my understanding that for a traditional bow arrows are fletched with the longer vanes, 3 to 4".
And her draw is terrible. Putting her nose between the string and the bow, Ouch.
How young girls tried telling their Archery instructor "but that is how Katnis does it."

Technically, her mockingjay bow was some new technical marvel in the book. So the short vanes probably fit the idea better.

But usually 3-4" feathers are used if the arrow is shot off the shelf or a plunger. Plastic vanes come in when you use a stand off rest.

The smaller plastic vanes will work for a trad bow, but like Chief and Red Cent said above, its not ideal due to archer's paradox. As far as her anchor goes, the problem is that she was taught her form for the movie by an Olympic archer. Drawing to an anchor point under the chin is fine if you are using sights, since it gives you more possible elevation without the arrow blocking the target. However, its not so great for traditional archery. There is no way you could judge vertical aim very well with your eyes so far above the shaft. In the end they probably wanted it done that way because it allows more of her face to be shown, and most people aren't going to notice that it is incorrect anyway.

And I cant keep a damn arrow on a rest sitting in a deer stand. How do they kill bad guys, leap tall buildings with a single bound, etc , etc… And have 50 arrows in a quiver and never lose one.

I Fletch my arrows wood or aluminum with 5" feathers. For the movie they cannot have the star anchoring at the corner of her mouth, it would get in the way of her close-ups. Typical Hollywood fantasy crap for the masses.

Here's a clip of a movie that put some very cool effort into showing those gyrations...

She also has a solid anchor. smooth release and is not over griping and torquing the bow. Decent form overall.
