Looks like Officer Webster was found not guilty of his assault charges. Pretty sure of that had been me I would be facing attempted murder charges.

Not to be disrespectful Wahoo, but while the video sure looks that way the jury presumably had more information and time to consider this than we do and they decided to acquit.

Honestly can't imagine what the jury saw or heard to overcome the video evidence, but at some point you gotta trust the jury.

Having said that, as discussed before, the office clearly escalated this and that's not supposed to be their role.

Well the officer did also say they thought the guy had a gun on him. Load your jury up right and I'm sure you can find enough to see no issue with it. I'm sure we'll find plenty here who see no issue with it.

That logic is the same used by those who justify the guy in Chicago being shot 10 times after he was down on the ground.

Can I walk up and punch a guy who took a swing at me 10min ago.....just a question? Use of force...any force is based on the here and now not the past.

He was charged and had his day in court where a jury acquitted him. OJ got off, too.

I think it looked like he was getting ready to bolt. But the officer should not have kicked him like he did.

Guess you aren't familiar with the kids in LA who were charged with attempted murder for a fight on which one of them kicked a another kid in the head. I seem to remember most everyone on the forum supported the charge.

Bad verdict. How can they over rule video evidence? I'm guessing it's a case of jury nullification.
