Obama says it's a 'personal insult' if black voters don't back Clinton

WASHINGTON - President Barack Obama said Saturday night he will take it as a "personal insult" if the African-American community fails to turn out for the presidential election and encouraged black voters to support Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.

Obama delivered his final keynote address to the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, symbolically passing the torch to the person he hopes will succeed him next year. Clinton, his former secretary of state, was honored for becoming the first female presidential nominee of a major party.

Obama said his name may not be on the ballot, but issues of importance to the black community were, including justice, good schools and ending mass incarceration.

"I will consider it a personal insult, an insult to my legacy if this community lets down its guard and fails to activate itself in this election," Obama said with a stern look and booming passion. "You want to give me a good send-off, go vote."

The first draft of the speech just hit wiki leaks:

"there are key issues that are important to the black community that I have either not acted to fix or have intentionally exacerbated because you dummies actually believe that the next Democrat will address them just like you believed that I would address them. Thank God you never hold us accountable. Now go vote for Hillary, she's white and also won't address your issues, but she's a woman so you get to be a part of making history again and she'll say she will to address your issues to get your vote and that's what really matters."

I'm sure you misunderstood. He's a good, honest, caring man, who just happened to spend 20+ years "worshiping" with the "God D*MN America" guy.

Interesting how he was going to be the "post-racial" president and now he shamelessly plays the race card at every opportunity.

What is sad is that the "Slaves" will do what their "Masters" tell them. They cant think on their own. I truly feel sorry for the majority of black people in the US. We need a strong black leader that can bring us together,,,Not keep separating us.

You could put half of Clinton’s supporters into what I call the basket of despicables. Right? Those who loudly label half the country as racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic — you name it -- all to suit their own political needs and to grab power. And unfortunately there are people like that. And she has lifted them up.

Basically what he is saying is the black community should engage and vote as he tells them............not as they decide and choose to with their own intellect. Apparently any blacks who vote otherwise will somehow disappoint and insult him and his legacy. How condescending and demeaning can this guy be?

I'm assuming his priority is focused on voters in the black community.....he fails to mention if he wants voters of other races to vote Democrat. Oh.....I forgot, he'll get to them later because this particular address was to the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation.

I'm sure that he'll ask for votes when he makes it around to the Congressional White Caucus Foundation, or the Congressional Asian Caucus Foundation, or the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Foundation, or the Congressional Muslim Caucus Foundation, or the Congressional Native American Caucus Foundation, or the rest of the Congressional ( insert your choice of race here) Caucus Foundations.

Oh.......silly me. Those other Caucus Foundations don't exist in his world. Forget I was even here in this thread. Carry on.

The left is trotting out this strategy because Trump is scaring them now and Hillary is disappointing the left on delivering the black-block vote.

The tactic is to instill fear in blacks that Trump will dismantle all Obama has done for blacks in this country and nullify or otherwise soil the legacy that they elected the first (half) black president by voting as a zombie-block in 2008 & 2012. As the piper, he is calling on his block to follow his superior intellect in voting as he demands. His hope is that they will not want to disappoint him, their Dear Leader.

This is of course a self-serving rouse by Obama.

Sit tight. You won't have to wait until it's on tv.

I'll leave this one right here. IMO, the idea that that Black community is a mindless, monolithic voting block at the beck and call of the Democrat party could be the most racist idea in American politics right now. And it looks like some folks are making that connection.

I think Obama is a "personal insult" to black voters.
What has he done but open bigger cracks between everyone?
I didn't vote for him either time, but he had a chance to bring all of Americas races together several times.
But every time he stuck a brier in the sore and twisted it in deeper.

You have to admit one thing, Obama has delivered on his campaign promise of "Hope and Change"...
I just HOPE his ass is gone before we see much more CHANGE....

Let the Muzzie in Chief keep talking. The useful idiots that support him will not change. They are a lost cause. But he will drive the smart, educated black voters away from the Democrat party by treating them like mindless cattle. They may not all support the R's, but they will suck power and money away from the D's. Baby steps, but it's a start.
