I'm sure I'll get 100 different answers... but what is the best choice for CC 2020? I'm thinking of changing up mine. Mainly due to the 7 round limitation. I'd also like something with larger 'buttons' (mag release and slide release), although I know they always naturally tend to be small on CC guns. I do love my current gun as far as size, easy to conceal and very comfortable to carry. Just wondering if there is anything out there now that would be as comfortable, easier to use, more potential accuracy and more capacity.

My choice is the Sig P365xl.

In 9 or 40, Springfield EMP4 Concealed Contour; in .45, Springfield Lightweight Champion. Personally, I carry a Springfield Lightweight Compact Range Officer in .45 but it also comes in 9 if that's the caliber you prefer. I'm not a fan of the trigger on striker fired pistols but I am a fan of their light weight. That makes them easier to carry which means you are more likely to actually carry them. So, even though I'm not a fan of them, I don't knock anyone for their choice. Shoot, I sometimes carry a Beretta 81 in .32acp!! Most people think that's insane these days. But I think 12+1rds of a 78gr pill at 1000fps is adequate and it's lightweight with a great trigger.

No problem, Springfield EMP4 Concealed Contour or Lightweight Compact Range Officer. Both under 30oz with 4" barrel, 9rd capacity and GREAT triggers! Next question.:D

Like I said about the Sig.

Having said that, I own the SA 9mm 1911 EMP ( Actually, I have 2 of them cause I like them so much) . Great gun, but not one I would CC.

    YMMV.

    I carry G26 and G19.

But my #1 choice would Be (if I could ever find one) G33 no doubt.

I started with small guns like 380 keltec then 9mm kahr cw9. In the last 6 years or so I have switched to a nice IWB holster and found I can carry my G19 just as easy and not have to worry about 2nd mag in pocket. Lots of options in that size gun that a 170 + lb person can conceal easy.

Recently purchased a Ruger LC-9 with a laser sight. I am in the North Myrtle Beach SC area and save for some cooler days come winter I am mostly in shorts and T-shirts. I have a CZ 9mm which is a significantly larger piece then again it hardly ever gets cold enough to carry that concealed.

1911 Full frame/Commander slide or overall Commander size is most comfortable for me, but also recognize capacity is less than many guns. I carry IWB at 3 o’clock, and I actually find a slightly longer barrel is more comfortable. It seems to ride the outside of my hip and upper leg better as I move than a shorter Barrel which rides my hip but pokes into upper leg during some movements.

Will carry a Glock 29 10mm IWB for outdoorsy activities.

For ‘dress’ with tucked in shirt I have a Rohrbaugh 9mm in pocket holster.

I carry the Springfield Hellcat. Very comfortable with a 12 round mag in 9mm

Currently I carry a G19 Gen 5 MOS with holosun or CZ P-01 most of the time depending on which holster I have on my belt at the time. If I'm at a project site where my usual carry won't work for whatever reason I carry a Ruger LCP. I'm looking to replace the LCP with a Sig P365 in an ankle holster, whenever my dealer can acquire one.

Take a good look at the Springfield XD-E. Nice size, good trigger, and it can be put in any mode you can think of:

SA with a manual thumb safety (MTS) either on or off, DA with MTS on or off; round chambered or not. The thumb safety doubles as a "decocker" to put the pistol into DA mode.

If you don't want a SA (only) striker fired pistol, this is a great choice IMHO.

It really does come down to what is the largest you can reasonably and comfortably conceal. I love the Shield PC model, but know a lot who carry g19 due to larger capacity. I'm not able to make that work in NC summers.

How’s that compact range officer? I’ve only ever shot full size 5” 1911s. THEY were like butter.

It is by far my favorite of all the guns I've carried. The only reason I suggested the Lightweight Champion in stead of the RO Compact was for the extra round it holds. But I guess the RO's shorter grip does conceal a little better. It shoots great!!

And another question. Neighbor asked me to go to the show with him to pick out something for him to carry in the car and in the nightstand. What suggestions for that situation? He is a smaller stature guy, and older. I don't believe he has ever owned a handgun before. He does have grandkids that come to visit. So I would tend away from a revolver for that reason.
