Street legal NASCAR modified.....converted to 2-seater. Was an old S.M.A.R.T. car raced in the early-mid 90`s. I located the bare chassis and beat up body in a storage shed in Lenoir, NC...... used the body for a pattern and made a new one, rebuilt the chassis, gathered what few parts I have left after 34yrs of racing, and started on my mid-life crisis........11 months later NCDMV came by the shop last week and began the titling process. Can`t wait to get it out on the road!
That is cool. Agree you should add a number like whatever was your favorite one from the racing career.
Looks like loads of fun! I thought anything on the road had to have fenders of some sort to cover the tires and keep from throwing debris up into the air. Either way I wanna ride!
It had small fenders if I remember ... How you going to det a title on it, what year and what regs does it need to meet.? No cat or muffler, and they will give you a plate for that?
Titles as a 2014 custom built auto. Being a custom, just like a kit car, exempts it from emissions testing. NC has no muffler law except it must have mufflers if it was "original" Equipped" with one. Where they ticket you is with local noise ordinances. There are actually mufflers on the ends of the headers on mine to tone it down a bit. The regs to meet are the safety inspection items that a normal auto has to pass, including the blue indicator light on the dash for high beams, and emergency brakes. The lighting, relays, etc were the hardest part of the build since they were all done from scratch
Oh I'm gonna have to look into this....... How much can you start with? Bare frame, tub, whole body.....Aww I gotta look into this
These are cool. However..... not to be a damp rag..... If you crash one of these you will stop. Right now. No crush zone. No helmet and steel tubing all over the place. The crash does not have to have any mistakes done on your part. A texting teen can get you quick. Just things to remember when you take someone for a ride. You signed up for the deal. They may not exactly understand the environment which they are placing themselves.
