Our mission statement

I don't consider myself as a "criminal lawyer," but I have defended self-defense shootings and know the process and how North Carolina applies the law to those circumstances. Unfortunately over the years, I have had clients find themselves in just those precarious positions. Most are resolved without court and many D.A.'s I know are reticent to prosecute when the facts support legitimate self-defense. And yes, that means no matter how upset you have become (and to stay square with the law), chasing the perp down the streets of your neighborhood while practicing your shooting skills is probably not the best way to handle (as tempting as that may be in the moment). With that said, I hope no one here is ever confronted with someone threatening deadly force against you or your family, but it does happen--even to the best citizens and in the unlikeliest of places.
