The PHA Tactical Match is held on the 3rd Saturday of the month at 10:00 AM, weather permitting. Match fees are $15 for the first gun, $15 for a second gun (to be shot through the entire match).
The match consists of 5 stages with different scenarios each month. All matches involve movement and shooting around barricades and through windows and doors at ISPC-type targets. You begin shooting at the sound of a buzzer. Total round count will be around 150 for the match (including pistol rounds). Bring at least 150 rifle and 50 pistol to be on the safe side.

You can use center fire and rim fire. For center fire, rifles used are AR-15, Mini-14, AK-47's and similar. For rim fire, the new ARs in .22 can be shot, along with other .22 semi-automatic carbines.

Pistols can be used in any pistol caliber. Shooters will need 2 rifle magazines (25 rds. or more minimum) and at least an 8 round pistol magazine. Before each stage the range officers will explain safety rules and provide a walk through.

Your sign-in time determines your shooting schedule. If you register early, you will shoot early. If you come late you will be one of the last to shoot. NO EXCEPTIONS! Allow yourself enough time to enjoy a great time.

I thought that one of the pha guys said that since the 5 bays were running so smoothly that they would keep it at 10 am until further notice
I really like the idea of that JJ and I hope it is correct. I'm sure someone will be along shortly to confirm. I'll update the original post if so. I'll also reach out to Brittnay Man on CSF to see if he knows for sure.

Done with WLC, so barring CQ, I should be able to make this one. Looking forward to it.

There are 5 stages now? How long is the whole day now? I may consider giving it a try again.

Supposed to run the same or a little quicker since the extra bays and stages allow for more shooters to get through faster.
Hmm. Tempting.

That was the issue I had in the past in that it was 1.5-2hrs travel time, plus ~4hrs there for 3-5mins of actual trigger time with getting there early not mattering since you always had to wait for everyone to finish so you could start the 2nd stage.

The last two months I've left by 3 or so. The key to getting done is having everyone paste targets.
Something that they could really speed things up is to consider using "Negative" targets for some of the short range shots. These are targets where the scoring area is cut out leaving you to only need to paste shots which fall out of the "A" zone. This would reduce pasting time since 90% of people will make "A" Zone hits at close range. I only recommend it for the short range targets because on longer shots it would be too difficult to see whether someone just gamed it by purposely shooting to the side of a target ;) Using Steel for longer rifle also speeds things up.

Anyone verified that its going to start at 830? Last year the "warm months" started at 9. With the way its been going I think it would run well staying at 10 and I wouldnt have to get up so early :). Hated that I had to move further away and into the Southern most Carolina...puts me at a 3 hour drive. I've got a couple others hooked on the PHA tac match though and have been dragging them along so the drive is not so bad. Looking foward to it!

They mentioned in last months thread or on the other forum that they were keeping it 10am since it takes that much longer to set up the 5 bays.
Thanks! Makes sense too. Just about stopped visiting the other site as of late....
