Does anyone else out there run a plate carrier? If so, let's see pics of what you've got

Do you keep plates in it? If yes, are they stand alone plates, or with backers?

I have an Eagle Plate Carrier with cummerbund running SAPI plates without soft armor backers (although I've been considering getting some).

On it, I have a STRIKE QD platform paired with a Bladetech pistol holster, 6 rifle mags, 2 pistols mags, 2 canteens/pouches, a Maxpedition dump pouch, and an IFAK set up Army-style, with a few "boo boo" accessories in it. Lastly, I use a waist pack as an admin pouch, it contains a poncho, gloves, glow sticks, a GPS/radio, and some 550 chord.

That is a great looking set up!

I don't have a chest rig or anything...I want one, but as of now (cost + mall ninja) > (funds + utility).

What is this gear for? Is it just for fun, and range/ competition use? Or are you in LE?

I have one for the same reason. I just have a simple chest rig with some AR and pistol mag pouches on it though.

I'm also one multicam IFAK away from having my get-home-chest-rig set up.

It's a Tactical Taylor MAV with Tac Taylor 3 mag pouch, and 2 GI pistol mag pouches--I MAY also throw a maxpedition micro rolly poly dump pouch on it.

....thinking of going with this for weight reduction.

ive been building a plate carrier set up just for grins. using a condor carrier with taco mag pouches and a few other things. looking for a good med pouch to add first aid to the set up. i have soft armor in the rig now and would like to find some plates for it. eventually ill do a battle belt and some drop leg rigs for no other reason than i want to, i like it, and i can. plus as previously mentioned its merica!

Check Ebay for first aid kits, you can get an army issued IFAK for pretty cheap

Bumping the old thread with some pics of an old school nostalgia rig I just put together.

A (nearly) TRADOC compliant FLC setup in 3 color desert
