Agreed, and should not be used against US Citizens.

Gives an argument if one shoot's a drone. It had a weapon pointed at me.

Remember back when the paranoid whacko people said we'd be using weaponized drones on citizens...and people would buy into it in the name of officer safety or positive uses? Yeah. It just happened. I hate that I outgrew my CSC Drone Hunters T-shirt...

I don't like it. The potential for abuse is so far off the charts it's outrageous. Yes it has potentially good use, but the abuse potential outweighs it in my eyes. I personally get tired of being recorded everywhere I go in certain areas of town. These things are just above head level instead of overhead so they are positioned to actually look inside private property. I'm part of a minority I suppose. Other folks seem to think these cameras keep them safe because our local PD says so.

This gives me an idea. What if I outfitted one of my drones with a spray paint can and flew around spraying surveillance camera lenses. I never said that...

Eventually, years down the road, one of these will go haywire apeshit and wipe out a bunch of people. Did we not learn anything from ROBOCOP???

And it will be done you can bet your bottom dollar on that. Just like beatings and sicking the dog on somebody.

I would think pepper spray / tear gas would have come first. Don't tazers require wires leading back to the weapon? Sounds cumbersome for drone use. Now a paintball gun with pepper balls would just be way too much fun.

My bad, didn't watch the video.

I was cleaning my reloading bench just the other day and found a box of copper plated #2, high brass, 12 gauge that might be needed in the event I'm "violated".....

Does this mean that we now have to worry about officer's shooting citizen's dogs to officer's drones shooting citizen's drones?

They will taze your dog to death because he barked at their drone.

Go outside after dark on a clear quiet evening. If you have a good view of the nighttime sky, and live near a metropolitan area, just sit and watch. Sooner or later, you'll probably observe something moving through the air that doesn't resemble an airplane or helicopter, makes no noise, at least loud enough for you to hear, and will occasionally stop, reverse course, fly in a circle, etc. My son and I have observed one of these a few times in the past year or so. It has a continuously illuminated red light on it. No doubt in my mind it is a drone being flown by some agency.

The last time we observed one of these things was back in June. We watched it flying south after crossing over I-40 and it continued flying south towards the city of High Point.

I haven't done much research on drones and what their respective payloads are.

If possible, it'd be cool if someone could mount a short section of aluminum tubing to the underbelly of a drone and rig it to deploy a 2'x2'/3'x3' section of 1 1/4" mullet cast net via a charge, possibly a blank cartridge, fired remotely from the user controls...

That sh*t'd be awesome.:D

Anyone know what type of communication bandwidth is used to control/communicate with the drone?

I'm thinking about jamming the signal. I know we used 2 types (mounted: Duke or CVRJ, dismounted: Thor III) and they would disrupt cellphones, keyless entry fobs, garage openers, remote control cars etc, and I know at one point cellphone jamming equipment could be found on the Internet. Curious if the signal could be easily interfered with causing the drone to crash, or at least disrupting the video feed, ability to control, etc

They should have built in "return to home if signal is lost" programming in them, so a net my be a better option.

There is no reason to think otherwise. The design capabilities are present in today's technology. I am surprised it has not occurred between two of the major powers.

I can only see one reason for this....greater control. How long will it be before there are litterally thousands of these being flown daily, watching every single one of us? Think about it...we told you not to water your lawn! = ticket/fine. We told you can only plant 3 trees a year! = ticket/fine. We told you that only missionary position is allowed on Thursdays! = ticket/fine(and for gigles they post the video they got through the window online).

Dang I locked myself out....I'll just jump the fence and grab the spare key out back...think again!!! You just got tased/shot in your own back yard by a freaking drone.

Hey, what happens if a drone doesn't ID itself as a cop? What about imposter drones?
