Pondering another pistol

Hey guys, I am thinking about picking up another .22. I had a 22/45 mkIII that was pretty nice but it just did not fit the bill 100% for me, so I traded it on a rifle. I see the need to possibly fill that void, my father has an MKII and an older FIE revolver that I can shoot but I want something for me. haha. So after that mouth full, what do you guys suggest. Do not care if it is semi or revolver just wanting to see some ideas that I may or may not have thought about. This would also be a great time for you guys to show off your .22 pistols with pics to persuade me. haha hopefully trying to keep it under $300 I could go a little over that and i do not care if its used or new.

Don't have pics handy of the one or even made of the other right now, but I have two 22LR pistols that I like VERY much.

One is a Buckmark Hunter with the long barrel (7.25") http://www.browning.com/products/catalog/firearms/detail.asp?fid=006B&cid=051&tid=403 I put a Bushnell TRS-25 RDS on it. Everyone who picks it up loves it, and it's a laser even for so-so shooters. The wood grips feel great. Trigger is great out of the box, though there is a spring flip mod that is reputed to lower the pull even more; I have not done that yet as I'm having too much fun with it as-is.

The other is a Colt/Umarex 1911 rail gun http://www.waltherarms.com/products/tactical-rimfire-replicas/government-1911-a1-rail-gun/ I'm a 1911 fan (though I have other stuff also). I debated long and hard between this and the GSG version. I've held both; both feel fine to me. The finish on the GSG ones that I've seen seems to wear easily, though I have not seen many of the Sig ones that have been around a while. I don't care about the rail, but I wanted those particular sights since they match what I usually carry. It is not broken in well at all yet, and I've put most Rem Golden Bullets through it (for break in :) ), so the accuracy is not quite up to par yet. It also needs a bit of trigger TLC, but I need to finish break-in first.

I say that about the accuracy because I used to have a Sig Mosquito. Some folks have reported issues. I had none with mine - I really enjoyed that pistol. It was super easy to strip and clean. Yes, early on I had about 30% FTE with non-Minimags ammo, but Minimags were fine in it - just like the manual said. Yes, it's made of Zamak and not steel. But it was SCARY accurate. One time I put the contents of a 10-round mag inside one of the 1.5" black circles on those targets at PDHSC that has a mix of small black circles and larger blue, green, and red circles...at 25 yards, two-handed grip, standing. I was shocked, given the long trigger pull. If you like Sigs, it's a decent choice in my book. I'm not a Sig person and I prefer the 1911 platform, so I traded it in. I wanted the rail gun worse...I have several 1911s in 45ACP, and one in 9mm; since it's my platform of choice, I wanted a 22LR also, with the same ergonomics.

I had a S&W 617-2 6-shot revolver with 6" barrel for a while. It was gorgeous, but I'm just not that big of a revolver guy, so I traded it in too, on something else I wanted more.

Hope all this rambling helps!

I know some people just don't like the look or feel of the Beretta Neos. I have had one for 4 years and love it. Very accurate, not finicky with ammo and best of all, they are not that expensive.

You can take this one out for a spin. The URX grip adds some thickness. The new ones aren't too expensive over at ed's in vass. The new urx grips look better, too.

Eats every 22 round I've fed it. That says something these days since you gotta take what you can get your hands on if you don't have a stockpile.

New ones:

I don't remember the price, but it was under $400

I like both of my Chiappa .22s. The 1911-22 digests anything I feed it, the M9-22 is temperamental (like my wife) and only eats 40 grain super high velocity ammo. Both are in your price range. With quality ammo they're hard to beat.

I have the exact same pistol, without the optic. It is a great shooter. Eats any ammo. I ended up giving it to my son when he turned 12. He loves it. It actually likes the Winchester 36gr HP bulk ammo.

Tell me about the holster. Where did you get it? How much?

2aforall made it for me.

He's a vendor here.

It looks a little odd because he made it exactly like I asked for it. Pancake, rides a little high and a forward cant. Not for everyone, but works for me while wearing it in the woods. Great retention even without a thumb break.

SIG 1911 - 22 or a GSG 1911 - 22 I recommend these 2 because the sig 1911-22 was my latest purchase in the 22 pistol realm. I own a ruger mk1 , sig mosquito and a high standard also but I am just blown away by the accuracy of this new pistol plus after changing the mag follower and base plate it holds 15 rounds less reloads equal more fun. The sig will also except the gsg mags which are about $15 less than the sig factory mags:)
