I think all we need is a place, preferably on a farm because of the room and the ablility to be outside, where we could come together maybe once a month and to allow someone to show off their skills. For example, shelter building, starting a fire with different methods, cooking on a open fire, carve out a axe handle, or group defence stuff like, or how to dehydrate food, anything that anyone would want to share. I just think learning from each other and networking with each other is a great way to prepare, get to know others in your area that you could rely on in an emergency.

 

I am game!! I would be willing to do a presentation on some stuff.

Charlotte guy here interested, also if any one has kids, I have two 6 and 8 we can get them involved as well!

 

I believe this is a great idea. Unfortunately I am outside of Raleigh but would be interested in meeting folks a little closer to my area.

 

I'm game, I'm just really getting into stocking up on stuff but sharing survival knowledge and tips and getting to know others in the area would be a great idea. I'm concord kannapolis area

I have a great place in Lexington but it might cost us a bit for it. We could use it on Thursday nights. It is at an indoor airsoft facility so I could work in some firearms tactics training also in with it. If we can find a private place then this might be a good option because a restaurant would not be private enough. People would look at us "strange" if we were carrying in bug out bags and such. The airsoft place is large enough both inside and out to be versatile.

If that is something you folks are interested in pursuing I will find out cost. Lets say once a month meeting with a scheduled topic like first aid, communications, tactics, gear, skill, cpr classes, some hands on stuff, etc.

Sign up here if you think you might be interested. I also have 100 acres in Randolph County that I was planning on hosting some stuff possibly. Even spoke with Dave Canterbury about doing something.

I am going to guess and say the building “rent” shouldn’t be more than $10 to $15 per person for that night. I will have to check….

Well it sounds like there is interest in this and RJT already has the ball rolling and I am excited to see what he will put together!

I will set up a page and anyone that wants to teach a class can sign up there and tell us what the subject is and so forth. I will work on this more tonight and try to get it up as soon as I can.

Cool Combat in Lexington NC has agreed to host us. It is right off I-85 and in the center of the state. We just need to work out the details but we are looking at Thursday nights maybe starting around 7:00 till 9:00. Time may vary depending on what we have going on. Fee is probably going to be in the $12.00 range depending on the class and other charges that may need to be included.

I say we try and cover two topics per night if we can depending on what the topics are.

I'll Captain it the best I can so don't worry. I think this will be a great thing for everyone and I am excited about some good knowledge and skills. I am really wanting to learn and am interested in communications and hope someone will teach it!

I'm involved with a couple of groups and provide info on food, medicine, and comms, among other topics, but Thursday nights won't work for me. It conflicts with another meeting. Maybe I could make the first one with advance notice on the date. Someone is about to refer some other local people to me and once I get sufficient critical mass, I'll be holding regular meetings in the Char/Meck area.

Yes that is the plan and I would also like to stay local. I would like to have this be as inexpensive as possible, if not free, I am also sure someone has some land or knows of a place we could use.

I talked with RJT on the phone and he has offered to teach a class and offered a class room setting meeting place to teach it so if we are willing to travel up there for a class that option is there. A very nice gesture RJT and thanks!
