Well, that was the easy part. All Trump had to do was vanquish people too stupid to pick up the thousand-dollar bill lying on the sidewalk -- smug, smirking, out-of-touch establishment drones.

Now comes the part Americans have desperately hoped for, but almost never seen: A politician keeping his promises to the American people. (See, e.g., Senate candidate Marco Rubio's 2010 promise to oppose amnesty if elected; Sen. Mitch McConnell's 2014 promise to block Obama's executive amnesty if Republicans were handed a Senate majority; Jeb Bush, John Kasich and Ted Cruz's promise to support the 2016 Republican presidential nominee.)

Hey, anybody else remember "Read My Lips"? That was from the family too pristine to sully themselves by voting for Trump.

With the self-assurance of everything else they've said wrong about Trump from Day One, the media are already announcing that he, too, will betray the American people.

I don't think so! To help Mr. Trump keep his promises, I've compiled a detailed schedule for his first 100 days in office. Please note that each day is meticulously planned:

I think there is significant risk that we will be disappointed by Trump's first 100 days. Between the Democrats and establishment GOP in Congress, there is a large block (much greater than a majority in both houses) that can either block Trump or at least demand significant concessions to anything he plans.

While I think a wall and deportation of all illegal aliens would be necessary to preserve America, I don't have high hopes of it getting done. Too many monied interests and their paid for Congress critters will oppose this.

And it's not just the monied interests - consider that Hillary, the very epitome of Washington DC crony capitalism and corruption, got more votes than Trump. Hopefully more exposure to Trump will convince at least some of these libtards that Trump is not the racist/misogynistic monster that the media has convinced them he is.

First 50 days will be back peddling and explaining that by "wall" he means a variety of things to discourage immigration, like tax funds sent to Mexico and accelerate the deportation process and not mean stacking bricks. It's almost certainly smarter than building a physical wall, but some will view it as a failure.

#9 ·
We don't necessarily need a physical brick-and-mortar "wall". Just unmuzzle and turn the border patrol loose, increase their funding, give them the technology to photograph and fingerprint in the field, and give Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, and California grants from DHS to increase their state-level enforcement and let ICE do what they were created to do: ENFORCE immigration and customs.
250 billion dollars in a physical wall will do little for the infection that is already here.

Also, create a temporary visa program that will allow employers who ALREADY have illegals working for them (and can vouch for their character) to keep them in the country, while they go through the channels of naturalization.

It isn't rocket science.

The only path to citizenship we need is the legal one. - That said, we are under no obligation to allow anyone to immigrate.

What people need to understand is that immigration is to make the country stronger, not the individual. - What skills do you bring? How will you make a living? Can you currently provide for yourself? Do you have a place to reside? Can you afford it? Etc, etc, etc.

The American populist that elected DJT does not want to further desecrate the American ideology. The marxists have done that extremely well. We need to be very, very careful about who stays and who goes.

Are you all in for America, or will you fail to assimilate? - that's really the only question.

We don't need a temp anything. Here illegal, see ya. Gone.

And if you were here to start with illegally, then no chance of you getting back in.

Wall is still a good idea, manned, with weapons.

#16 ·
Well, to be honest, I don't see ya'lls "all of them, right now" idea coming to fruition. Yeah, it was a campaign promise, and it would be a utopian thing to watch happen, but realistically speaking, it'll never happen that way, much like the door-to-door weapons confiscation that was (and is) feared by many. It is just logistically impossible.

I don't know what the answer is, and I am not 100% sure of what can or can not be done. Yes, the shangri-la answer is a nationwide sweep and clear of ALL illegals, no matter WHERE they're from, but until we get the border under control, it's like using a colander to bail out the boat.

However, I don't see an issue with allowing employers a path to help their productive, well-behaved employees at least obtain a temporary work visa, provided they have started or want to start the naturalization process.

Impact of illegals on the economy is substantial. the growth of the economy and goods relies heavily on the illegal labor (just imagine the price of produce without illegal labor). Agree with 1911gobang work visa is a solution that 43 proposed but was poo pooed by the right wing of the party.

Hillary didn't get elected. Personally, I believe that's great and I'm certain many of you feel the same.

That said, we need to be vigilant. From day 1, we should view everything they do with a good degree of suspicion...watch them like a Cooper's hawk on a pigeon.

#19 ·
It's just my opinion, but if we take the opportunity to beat the crap out of our temporarily beaten opponent, they will do the same down the road...and that means guns.

Think about this, if Trump implements and enforces reasonably moderate immigration policy and reasonably moderate sentencing reforms, many folks of color that are productive American citizens might begin to become supportive and he won't lose a single conservative vote. Ya'll have been saying that the liberals have been lying to people of color for years, well we have an opportunity to take the high road, to extend an olive branch, and to make long-term allies by giving them something they want when there is no way for them to get it themselves. If we chose to beat the crap out of them instead, the liberals will get control in 2 years and they'll get what they want and then extract another pound of flesh. Conservatives have a fleeting opportunity to control the country for the next 25+ years, all three branches and most governors, and instead we'll probably waste it because we're just that dumb.

Again, I could be wrong, but obviously I don't think so.

Do you remember how Obamacare was passed?

We should undo as much of the progressive damage as possible, as fast as possible. And put a court in place that will make it stick.

I have a new EO for Trump in the first 100 days. It will have two parts.

First, there will be no Federal Law or edict telling a private business what it can or cannot do with regards to its bathroom facilities.

Second, any University that offer safe spaces, has speech codes or segregates students in housing based on race, religion or ethnicity will receive ZERO $$ in Federal funding or grant money. Also, any University that offers any field of study involving Women's Studies, Basket Weaving, Gay/Lesbian/Tranny-Freak Studies etc will receive ZERO $$ in Federal funding or grants. If you have the budget to offer those things then you don't need any help. Use your endowment fund.

Guys, agree with the goal, assuming that the goal is a unified America where people identify first as Americans and share significant common values while respecting the rights of others. But, that's not something you can grab on the playground and claim, it must be accepted. Trump is a bully, if he does the unpredictable, and from the comments after yesterday's meetings it looks like he just might, then he may be able to unify America. Just think about what would happen if the majority of minority voters associated with the new Republican Party?

This comment caught me completely unaware, can someone tell me what it means? "he won't put 8 million volt electrical charges in his wall"

Elections have consequences. We _won_. Use it.

The left isn't going to compromise when they win. They never have. They play for keeps. I want to accomplish more than a 4 year delay of a progressive president. A lot more.

If he compromises, his base will desert him and he loses spectacularly. He was elected to DO SOMETHING. Not to play nice with others.

You haven't answered my perfectly reasonable question in post #21, please consider doing so. His base won't desert him if he takes reasonable action, and certainly not for a more liberal candidate.

Today is different than the past, people have momentarily moved out of their political comfort zones to effect change, there eyes are open at least a little, these votes are up for grabs in numbers that they never have been before. The party that meets them will control for many years, and if Trump doesn't meet them the next democrat will, and America will become a liberal utopia until it fails. Now is the time for a moderately conservative agenda, and with it we won't have to worry about liberal repercussions for more than a decade and probably two. If he doesn't unify the country, then any gains will be only very short lived.

I've repeated this same message several times, you disagree and that's fine, but I don't see the path you propose (grab what you can when you can) doing anything to unite the country or accomplish lasting improvements.

Media is still all in for the left. I haven't seen this anywhere else yet.

http://m.washingtontimes.com/news/2016/nov/2/donald-trump-holds-high-flag-gay-equality/

My cousin lives in NY (upstate) she's gay and is scared for her life. She's freaked out about having to travel down here for my other cousins wedding today. She's about to get a wake up call that "we" really don't give a crap and you aren't in any danger in the "south" since it's not all deliverance and KKK rallying. Sorry to disappoint you my dear...

As I said a long time ago, I personally feel that Trump was a "revenge" vote. People wanted extreme action against the left. After years of football spiking by a party that, let's be honest, is filled with people like Krabba who absolutely live for spiking footballs in their opponents faces , a large portion of people were tired and wanted vengeance.

Statistically, conservatives field almost the same amount of total individual votes each election. If you look at the numbers it's somewhere around 50 million total votes or so. The democrats usually fluctuate a bit more. When mobilized they win, when they don't, they don't.

So what I believe we saw was that the percentage of republicans voted for revenge and that carried Trump through the primaries. Once the primaries were over, better or worse, he was our guy.

So, lets go to 2020 election season. If Trump fails to push through many of the positions that he was voted in for by this "vengeance" crowd, then he will actually be challenged heavily in the primaries. Though historically a sitting president has enjoyed a rubber stamp for the nomination, I don't believe it will be so for Trump. There are plenty of republicans who don't want him. So if he doesn't keep his momentum with the "vengeance" republicans, then he may be ousted.

Consider the arguments:

"He told you he was going to expand your gun rights! He negotiated background checks, but gave back nothing! He promised a wall, no wall stands! He promised to dismantle Obamacare, you still pay for Obamacare! He promised a conservative Supreme Court justice, you got a moderate!" I could go on and on.

Also, when I say "vengeance" above it is not necessarily unrighteous. And of course not all liberals are football spoilers, but many are. Just watch those "Trump will never get elected" videos.

I voted for Trump like everyone else on her, but I'm willing to bet he does none of the things he promised during his campaign. He's already starting to flip flop on Obuma care and as far as the wall goes goes good luck with that. CNN had two engineers on last night that estimated over 100 billon dollars and that was consevative. I think he will probably round up the crininal undocumented illegals that are here and deport them but they will just come right back. As far as rounding up every illegal. Good luck with that. I bet anyone on here 100 $ we've been sold a lemon. I'm going to give him 6 months and see what happens before I say I told you so.

It is unrealistic to think that he's actually going to put soda in the lunch room drinking fountains, but that doesn't mean that he can't make good progress on issues AND grow support AND unify the country by taking moderate steps. Evolution, not revolution.

He may have won on promises of retribution, and he is softening on that, but he isn't going to lose to a primary challenge if he is a little more moderate than what the alt-right wants and he will lose the general to a Democrat that is hell-bent on retribution. It's about time to stop swapping blows and talk to each other cause nobody is quitting, we can't just kill them, and there is no place to send them.

#53 · (Edited)
What makes anyone think Trump is going to give a crap about a primary challenge? The 2nd term always sucks anyway, and he is no spring chicken. My guess is economic and social chaos no matter what Trump does. Maybe severe on both parts. Trump bows out after accomplishing a couple small things to marry his next hot model, and it is next man up. If he governs sensibly he cannot win re-eelction. The populace is no longer sensible.

Guys...give the man a chance!
We have a saying in motorcycle racing; pin it to win it! That's not a compliment or acknowledged sound strategy, rather it's a term used to describe the squids who think wide open throttle is the only way.
They're idiots, and they never win..ever.

The winners...get a good start..maintain position, bring up heat in the tires, find the line and assess the competition.
You start to build momentum, and soon, you start to make passes. The pin it guys are real flashy and get immediate attention, but have shot their load by lap 4 and start to make glaring mistakes. Their tires are shot, their adrenaline rush has gone and they're burnt, they fumble the shift..they run wide..they blow the brake marker, leaving an open door to stuff it up the inside.
Before too long, there's a group of 3 or 4 that start to pull away from the pack, and you find yourself battling for a podium position with some really smart racers. At this point, you have accomplished 90% of your objective.
My racing goal is no secret. Finish first. If I have to choose between first and a crash, ok..today's best is a podium finish.
How I plan to do that against the other racers is the secret...but with a little pressure, some guys are just too easy to sucker into stupid moves.

The race is won on the last lap, not the first.

That would be good to garner the Latino vote, but I would much prefer taking it to the next level and getting Rand Paul in and really pissing in the feds corn flakes.
Rand's ideas are solid, but he doesn't raise a lot of enthusiasm from people. IMO he is a lot like Cruz. A smart guy with good ideas that is not a good at selling his point of view.

I'd say that is at least partially true. He's like that cousin nobody talks about or Eddie from vacation. But he knows all the players.

Even more discouraging listening to Gingrich clips on the radio today. More of the same, we can drive the ship better than the Democrats elitist crap. Particularly he commented on the ACA that we must keep some of it because everybody agrees 26 year olds should be on their parents' insurance and everybody agrees we need people to buy insurance. So maybe we put thoss pesky people that don't want to participate in higher risk pools set up by the government and make them buy insurance.

Hopefully Trump doesn't listen to his crap. Zero understanding Constitutional limits and individual freedom. Freaking moron.
