So, I picked up this little S&W wannabe from a member here last week and am planning on getting her running.
The only thing mechanically it needs is a spring and plunger which i've found on gun broker.
The plunger and spring is needed for the cylinder stop so right now the cylinder spins freely without it. The spring was in the tunnel but the plunger was missing and I tore up the spring getting it out but luckily found replacement parts online.
It is/was a nickel gun but obviously the nickel is toast. My goal is to re-finish it as cheap as possible so i'm going to give it some sanding and then duracoat or durabake it.
I think i'll get the parts for about 6.50 plus some sand paper and duracoat or dura bake which I was already going to buy for a 1911 so i'll call that free.
If everything goes as planned I should be under 50 bucks on the whole deal.
It's not a very nice gun and the double action trigger leaves something to be desired but mechanically it's in pretty good shape and should make a fun plinker or walking the dog gun as some say.
I've heard of some people loading the .32 S&W long to near 380 energy levels but i'm not sure if I should try that in this gun, it feels plenty strong and the only reason for the weak factory loads is supposedly due to top break guns, any hand ejector should be able to handle higher pressure loads.
If I can load it close to 1000 fps and maybe load it with 32 acp self defense bullets it might make a decent j frame size pocket gun.
