I admit to being tempted by the Governor, although I'd prefer they made it with a regular size cylinder just for .45ACP and .45LC, due to my less than popular views on the baffling fad for .410 revolvers.

 

I agree Brit, I really don't see too many reasons to shoot 410 from a hand gun.

.45ACP or .45LC shotshells? At the sort of ranges you would want to be taking shots at a snake with, I am sure those CCI shotshells would be more than adequate, with a considerably less bulky cylinder and a much handier revolver to carry.

These have been around for many years. The main objective of the design was to be used as a 'snake gun'.

I have .38's with #9 shot that would work fine on a snake. Get a 45 or 45LC with a shotshell and you get a decent amount of shot but in a much shorter gun.

Maybe the guys who need a 410 are deathly afraid of snakes? Or would rather just piss off an intruder in their home with a few little pellets? lol

Now if I ran across a Gaboon Viper I might want a 410, but for anything around here I leave it alone unless it poses a threat or my family or dogs. Certainly anything around here, rattlers and copper heads don't need a shotgun shell to take out.

 

I guess Ruger will come out with one called The Senator or The President. LOL

And then those dummies at Red Jacket will come out with the Dictator that shoots mustard and sarin gas.
