S&W M&P Slide Release Question--Update
Picked up a new S&W M&P today at the Greensboro show, got it home and was checking it out. The slide release is SO HARD to operate, I can't believe it.
It is all I can do to thumb the release down. I have large strong hands and it takes about all I got and after a couple times, my thumb is pretty darn sore.
Wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem with their M&P. I suppose it will " work in " some but this seems ridiculous.
???????
If anyone is interested, I got the slide release to work very well. It didn't take much. I broke the sharp edges on the slide release and filed a little "ramp" on top of the slide release where it contacts the slide. I also broke the sharp corner on the lower edge of the slide where it contacts the slide release and lightly polished everything up with a 400 grit stone.
Made a HUGE difference and now it works as it should..... I have no problem releasing the slide with my thumb. It took about 10 minutes.
