I haven’t bought or traded much since the COVID pandemic wrecked our lives but have been lucky in the last month to buy a couple of pieces from a friend who has decided to slim down his collection. He knew that I was a fan of the Smith & Wesson N frames and my fondness for the model 28. He permitted me to have his service revolver at a very special price. Did I miss the mark at $500.00 or do I owe him some more money?
S&W model 28-2 400 target trigger and hammer.

I think so. I can drop by this morning with enough cash to allow you to share some with him. ;)

Didn’t know they made 28s in nickel
Model 27s they made in nickel

It’s a great price if it isn’t flaking off

S&W made a very few model 28’s in nickel for law enforcement. If your department ordered the 28 Smith would upgrade it to nickel for the officer if he wanted to, at no cost.
The Florida Highway Patrol used the nickel 28 back in the day but in the 6” variant. I got this one from a retired Winston Salem motorcycle policeman.

I just bought a nickel Det Soecial marked WSPD 250 from 1960. Being so close to W/S it’s be nice having two duty guns.
