I bought a new colt defender .45 and added a set of walnut colt grips with medallions. I love the gun, it shoots great and looks nice. Here's the problem. The wood grips will rub ya raw and the gun itself has sharp as razor edges. I know I could put the factory rubber grips back on but I really like the wooden ones. I figure I could take some light sandpaper and smooth up the grips some but what could I do about the gun? I'm really not interested in sanding on a new gun myself. Is there anyone local that can smooth the edges and possibly bobtail it?

When I go to the range my Colt wears the wood grips. For carry I use Pearce Diamond grip panels and finger grooves with Wilson screws. It works very well with the Cross Breed Holster.

Take a file to the edges but maintain a consistant "angle" while taking the sharp edge off. Bob tailing it will serve no useful function except to remove value......
