Finally Completed

Well gents, it's finally done. Got the stock yesterday and set the rifle up. I'll be hard press to go back to a factory Remington Action after how smooth this one is.

Got to give a shout out to @BurnedOutGeek @K.Lee @Red_SC and few others for letting me pick their brain on this build.

Wife is happy it's finished too.

I'm finally building a left handed rifle for my self after shooting right for 20 or so years.

Purpose will be for competition in PRS style matches and I hope next year to compete in the PRS.

Caliber: Looking at .260 Rem, 6.5/6 Creedmore, 6.5/6x47 Lapua.

Action: Defiance Deviant
Stock: Manners T6a Mini chassis GAP Camo
Trigger: Timney 510
Brake: Little Bastard
Scope: Razor Gen II
Rings: Seekin/Vortex
Bipod: Harris SBRM

Sending the bolt to get it black nitride. Once I get the barrel going to send it to Branden @ http://customguncoatings.com/ or have local guy do it Carolina Coating.

All it needs now is to have a barrel nut setup like the remage system so you can do your own barrel changes at home. Actually it looks ready to use the barrel nut since the recoil lug is machined to the receiver. If I spent money on an action like that I'd have several different barrels in different calibers to put on it.

If you pick the right cartridge to start with there is no need for a barrel nut. If you are determined to tinker, a good smith can set up switch barrels without a nut, just requires a bit more beefy tools.
The tool that does a lot of things well, rarely does anything exceptional.....you can quote me on that.

You have a fine action there DJ. Hope your build is everything you want it to be....The Defiance is a firm foundation.

6 x 47 Lapua would be my go-to unless you go for a magnum load of some sort. I Went 6cm, but I'm not truly in love w/ the hornady brass. if you go 6x47 all you need to do is just run the 6.5x47 Lapua brass down into a 6x47 and go shoot.

I'd say the 6 will edge out the 6.5 in most PRS style performance. If you take a load that is book safe and not working the brass hard the 6mm will win most every time. Where, I feel, the little 6mm loses out is at long ranges over 1000 yards where you're shooting into grass and you don't get any call on your shot. FWIW the 6.5 isn't much better and sometimes even a 300 or 338 wouldn't help in certain situations so YMMV.

oh yeah... forget the barrel nut crap.

Bartlein Barrel 1:8 twist Med. Palma contour.
Vortex Razor Gen II 4.5x27 scope cam. I mistakenly though (assumed) that production had made ground with the demand. I was wrong. However searching high and low I manage to find one in stock. I would be very disappointed in my self if I would not be able to compete in the Guardian match because of my screw up.

Using 1 inch high 34mm American Precision Arms rings (same maker of Little Bastard muzzle brake)
