Long distance radio communications was very wonky, noisy today. I was reading about this massive flare a few days ago and wondered what effect it would have on us. Now that we're on the dark side, most of the noise and weird sounds have cleared out.

I wondered about that too, yesterday. A radio station that I listen to very clearly everyday sounded horrible and I just turned it off eventually.
Gives you a clear message (no pun intended) of what could happen to all comms in a truly bad event/situation.

You understand it is doubtful that a .223 will travel 93 million miles to kill a solar flare?

You might want to up-caliber a bit.

How would you calculate the elevation and windage?
