Stupid people (buyers) or stupid prices?

Or is it a combination of both? $2,000 for a Colt? $650 for a Glock 19? $750 for a lower? I have my own opinions regarding gouging prices, but if someone is smart enough to get Chicken Little to buy the product, ultimately I think that it is the buyer who looks more the chump.

The sad thing is if there is an EO on this and the chumps are the guys that wanted something they didn't shell out for in the panic. Could go either way at this point, I wouldn't start calling names just yet. All a matter of perspective right now really and how you see things going. Ugly or uglier.

Idiots or geniuses? Frankly only time will tell.

I have nearly zero faith in the current gov't to protect our 2A rights, so who knows what will happen.

If a harsh AWB law goes into place for 10 years, some of these "insane prices" might look like HOT DEALS.

Witness the abuse one member took for selling PMAGS for $30.... check the local gunshow and TRY to find one for within $10-$0 of that price :-(

i HOPE it all blows over, but "hope" dont feed a family of 4, so Ill be hopeful, but prepared.

I saw a guy on XDT today selling 30rd Pmags for $65ea. (For the most part he's being raked over the coals.)

Supply and Demand. Right now the demand far outweighs the supply. Thats what make for free trade. I dont agree with it but there are many companies that need to make a profit, and with everybody comparing brick and mortar stores to online stores. everone has to cut their profits to near nothing to keep customers. I am one to pay alittle more for local but thats another subject.

Big mistake, should just have em on Ebay and forget about trying to sell it to people that will complain about it.

I'm within $10.

Yep, that's what I'm doing now.

I understand how bad it sucks for prices to be gouged, but honestly, who's fault is it for not being prepared? - If this was food, and the guys with a ton of it required a days labor or a substantial amount of bartered items for it, I wouldn't blame them.

When demand is THIS high, and supply is THIS low, what do you expect? I'm actually very happy for the people that can make a killing off this stuff right now. They put their money in the right spot and it's paying off.

I'm mostly in agreement with this. It's not like we didn't see it coming. If you didn't buy up when you could then it's your own fault. Personally, I wasn't able to buy as much as I wanted up to now due to finances and who isn't in that boat. I just now have a little money and just paid a premium on a few things, but I only blame myself and am not really complaining. We all knew what was going to happen and should be sitting back laughing.
Except maybe for .22's. I don't get the shortage on .22's ???

OH well better get used to it, if we go over the cliff, prices are going to rise on everything. If SHTF you haven't even SEEN gouging yet. I anticipate being able to trade a brick of .22 for something I could never afford otherwise :D
And a single shot shotgun + a box of shells? lol.

I am laughing at people asking $1800 for a M*P sport or a WASR 10, right here on our classifieds. And all I want to do is trade my NFA poly lower for a Dan Wesson .357 ;)

22LR is rimfire... you can't reload it. I'm guessing between that and the fact that most (even non gun culture people) have a 22LR rifle the demand has shot through the roof on it. Not to mention that all of the "survivalist" sites are always saying that 22LR can be used as currancy SHTF.

It's no differant than any other commodity...if things get bad....food, fuel....liquor...firearms will all be out the roof...you will either need to pay premium prices or barter something of equal importance. It comes down to being prepared and then taking risk to decide to sell at profit or continue to sit on it.....

Hey Joe, I'll sell my 2 pmags back to you.

No wait, They are now used and I don't have the original packaging. I can't, in good conscience sell them back to you.

Really now, we are our own worst enemies here. If someone has the product and you "have" to have it, then you will pay whatever the price is and be happy with it. You want the prices to come down, don't buy. If there is no demand for the supply, then prices will match the supply.

I don't fault anyone who bought earlier and now can turn over their product.

I considered selling my one and only AR for about 5 minutes (with it's 4 30 round mags), probably would have tripled my money but then realized that I enjoy it too much and would need to wait a long time to replace it, so it's staying put.

OK, maybe if I got a so stupid then I'm the idiot for not selling it offer, I might take it. For those who are that stupid, I'll take $6,000 cash for a DPMS Oracle with box and papers (probably 750 rounds down the pipe), a Lucid red dot, NC Star BUIS and a no name quad rail with 2 30 round aluminum DPMS mags and 2 30 round Pmags. For another $500 I'll throw in 500 rounds of reloaded .223. Once again, cash only, FTF in the RTP area. I will not travel to sell this. I will not split this up and the ammo will not be sold separately. I don't need or want to sell it, but if you want it this bad, I'm dumb enough to take your money. :D

As long as you guys aren't waving pmags around at meetups to taunt me, we're good. ;)
