So whos going this weekend!? I'll be there shopping for a SPS Tactical in 308.

Looking forward to this show as it has proven to be quite nice.

I'll probably head up and check it out. I've only been to the Armory shows and they blow ass.

I'm really trying to get out and do some shooting this weekend but my contact at Buccaneer is probably going up to Ant Hill for the IPSC match. I need to sight in my AR and my 700 Police and I have a couple pistols I have yet to shoot. Yes Brent - the LCP is one of them. :p

Geeze man, you haven't shot your LCP yet? I got the crimson trace laser for mine last week and love the way it shoots. No hicups, jams, or stove pipes.

Oh and check out DeSantis pocket holsters... Thats what im using and love it.

I agree, the Armory show does blow. It used to REALLY blow. Every other table was either stun guns, airsoft, or plush toys. None of which I think has a place at a gun show.

The REAL Wilmington gun show is much nicer. Alot more guns, alot of ammo and accessories.

Didnt know you had a 700 police. Wanna sell it? :)

I know, I know, you'll just have to settle for lots of guns and ammo tomorrow. :D

The ONLY thing I dont like about this one is the crowds. Last time I was there it was shoulder to shoulder. Forget about taking a stroll around these tables... its more like shuffle where you want to go.

Much like musical chairs without the music, chairs, or fun.

I used to work this show before the shop opened...it's one of the best. Truly a GUN SHOW with none of the extraneous garbage. Guns and gun accessories ONLY!

Good promoters and even good gun show food. Don't jump when the cannon goes off!!!

If you go, say hello to my pals Kevin from Action Gun & Repair and Rikki from Shooter's Choice. They'll have tables there.

Haha not sure you'd want it. It is chambered in Rem 6.8mm SPC. Besides - the 700 Police is a big step up from the 700 SPS Tactical. It has an H-S Precision composite all-weather stock (which is VERY nice I might add and goes for $350 alone), a full-length aluminum bedding block and a 26" fluted barrel. I'd sell it but used it is worth more than the SPS. Now I might consider a trade for a new SPS Tactical .308 if the SPS came with a decent scope. ;)

No Shammy WOW? No gator slim jims? No full auto airsoft and blow guns? What kind of a gunshow is that?
I'm starting to think a gun show just isn't a gun show without a table full of neo-Nazi paraphernalia.

Yeah, your right... im not looking for 6.8 right now. But fine rifle ya got there Drew.

My budget for a sps-t is around $500 and I dont think i'll find them in that price other than on Gun Broker

Sadly GB beats any price I can find in local stores hands down. Sure wish I could walk up to shooters choice, jims, or tiller & lanier with $500 and buy it new like I can online.

Yeah I'd be surprised if you even find a used SPS-T for $500 locally. I have a friend in Idaho who is an FFL and he can get me into one shipped to my FFL for $605. Haven't looked on GB for one. My SPS-T budget went to the 700P (A friend made me a deal I couldn't refuse) and in retrospect I'm glad it did because I am now enamored with semi-auto .308 rifles. Before the year is over I'd like to have either a DPMS .308, FNAR or R-25. Kirk has an FNAR in there and I have to play with it every time I go in.

They are $550 at Walmart (they can order them for you). $500 used sounds about right. Noticed several dealers have posted them for $529-575ish on snipershide every now and then, but you would have to pay shipping. Buds has them instock for $573 shipped. Good gun.

What do ya need a stun gun for if you have a real gun? That would make a liberal jury claim you made a choice between stunning and using deadly force. Sounds like a life sentence with Bubba to me. I will be there Sat and prob stop for breakfast in Castle Hayne. Approx 2-3 miles from show. Not Hardees.

Man, I wish I could go.....if Wilmington was closer to Longs, SC....we will be around Longs, SC....I know, it's not that far...but when I have the wife and kid with me.....it becomes "THAT FAR"

I was pretty unimpressed with the show actually (I went around noon). Prices were average to high and they didn't have ANYTHING I went looking for. My list was what I thought pretty basic and what you go to gun shows to shop for but apparently I am wrong. I was looking for:

  • Remington 870 barrel (I didn't see a single shotgun barrel of any kind)
  • +3 mag tube extension for an 870 (Saw 1 Tac-Star for $58)
  • Mosin-Nagant plinker
All of the above has been at the armory show.

All of the basic 91/30s I saw were $170 and higher and the snipers were $539+. I don't need/want a matching numbers 91/30.

Even the AR15 parts were slim. I ended up getting $150 worth of stuff I didn't need for my AR but the AR stuff I was really interested in was MIA.

What I did see were a lot of fair prices on complete ARs however. That did surprise me.

I picked up 12 boxes of PMC Bronze for $8 a piece. I've been paying that at Shooter's Choice for Wolf. Also got a few boxes of blazer .40. I was surprised at the fair prices for the AR15s as well. Nothing outrageous. I was also looking for a Ruger 10/22, but the only ones there were way to much.

ETA: I wore my CSF shirt hoping someone would say hello, but to no avail...
