No a guy on the ORV trail was hit by a round and was injured.

Not the first time this range was closed. Last time it was because of people shooting over the berm, and using rifles on the pistol range. We had to work pretty hard last time to get it open again.

It's too bad people have to screw around and get it closed down.

I was there last Thursday, and everything was fine. Of course, again, this isn't the first time this has happened. You'd think they'd close down the ORV trails that are directly behind the range. This sucks, because in my area we are limited to where we can shoot. There is a pay per hour range in Sophia, and I also have access to a 100 and 200 yard range, but am limited as to when I can shoot. At Uwharrie, I could go down on a whim, and shoot whenever I wanted.

If you are within striking distance the range at Camp Millstone is open to the public on weekends. We have our gatherings there in April and Oct. and have access to them. 100 yd rifle, pistol, and a shotgun range. Close by is an excellent skeet course and archery range. Ellerbe is 10 miles North of Rockingham and about 40 South of Asheboro just off 220. You can access the camp by using their web site. Go to NC camp millstone --- I think.

+1 to this range, it was very nice and I would love to go back there again.

I guess I am rif-raf because I can't afford to pay $425 + it is 45 minutes away. At least Uwharrie was only $3 per visit.
Nope, riff-raff like the kind of people that drag computer towers out to shoot. Or that pick up brass from your feet while you are shooting. Or people that like to double fist desert eagles sideways. Or people that shoot tracers over the berm. Or people that drink beer in the parking lot before they go shoot.

All of those I had seen at Uwharrie. None of which have I ever seen at PHA or other pay membership ranges.

I've been thinking of getting something together with folks on here one Saturday. If wecan come together on a set date we might be able to do something at my land off Lower Lake Rd, Thomasville. Google map it and figure out if you want to drive that far and let me know. If there's enough of a response I'll start a thread in the appropriate section.
