Was in WW earlier today and as usual went down the ammo case.

The attendant / cashier told me he just finished pulling all 22LR tags from the ammo case because WW is no longer selling it.

Says they will still carry 17HMR

This does not really affect me personally, however if I saw 22LR there I would get a box or two.

They probably got tired of the pawn shop next door and the fishing place on Fairfield buying it all up.

That makes no sense. They offer it for sale at $x, it gets sold at $x and they've presumably made the profit they wanted otherwise they wouldn't offer it for sale at that price. I doubt their bean counters have a column in the spreadsheet calculating "fairness of sale".

I know some removed labels a long time ago because it took up a whole shelf and with supplies got so sporadic that use the shelf for other ammos and you had to ask for 22. They keep it under the counter.

Interesting, IDK
I do know I stated to the attendant that I found it difficult to believe that WW is out of the 22LR business and his reply was that all 22LR ammo was removed from the stores "FOA ~ FUD" ( something like that ) order sheet.

Recently another BIA informed me that a WW in Greensboro had all "ZQI" ammo on clearance.
I have been to that GB WW before ( not recently) and I have not seen ZQI stocked at other WWs for a while.

I was told in VA the other day that WallyWorld was no longer going to carry it because they could not get the quantities they wanted.
Blackmail?

I saw some CCI .22WMR at Walmart just last week. Unfortunately, the clock just struck 10 pm and there wasn't anybody in sporting goods.

I'll keep an eye out (like usual) and see if the Walmarts I frequent still carry .22.

That's most likely - less to do with objections to the product itself; it's more likely that they got petulant when they couldn't bend suppliers over and demand certain terms in whatever procurement process.

The WW in Hillsborough is just around the corner from me. They have (in addition to the idiots) two older guys who are aware that a 9mm is not the same as a 12ga slug.

Curious about WW selling 22 rifles themselves I called T'ville WW and asked if that store was still selling 22 rifles. I also explained in detail the reason for the question.

I was told that their district instructed the T'ville store to remove ammo labels from the shelves (22LR) as they sold out because 22LR Ammo took up too much room and also that their store does not order ammo, at all. I was also told that they aren't sure if WW S main HP is in the same district or not.

Was told as new shipments of 22LR come in m they make new labels. OK, of which , I have been to T'ville WW and they had NO 22LR and the labels were still on the shelves, so?

Was told the T'ville WW gets ammo when district sends it, which is and has been infrequent with 22LR.
I was also told by T'ville WW that they had 22LR Ammo come in this morning and it's all >Long< gone.

So bottom line , as of today, T'ville WW still sells 22 ammo ( when it arrives ) and 22 rifles.

I'm on my way with my little daughter to a camping trip up in Virginia. We stopped at Walmart in North Carolina just before the border to get some sunscreen, and I checked out the Anmo section. They had cci 22 mag and 22 shorts. There was a clearly worded sign that explained a limit of 3 boxes of 22 LR. But of course the employee with the keys said it applied to *all* 22 ammo. So I got the 3 boxes of 22 mag they had

I was at the Walmart in brier creek last weekend and they had 2 1,000 rd boxes of Winchester M-22 (.22lr) for $50 each. Picked up one of them since I didn't have the funds to buy both. They also had a few CCI 100 rd boxes.

WW at 521/160 had CCI stingers(50rd), CCI Reg (100), and CCI 22 CB Shorts (100). Between me and my GF got 6 boxes of the stingers. there still was plenty there when I left. But WW does hire some loons. The guy who opened the glass look square at me and said I would have to get them out as he does not touch bullets. GF and I just looked at each other. Guess he thought they would turn him into a MASS NUT job or something!

When you check out, did they ask you whether the ammo was for rifle or pistol? I thought that was weird.

Because everyone tells the truth, that question is meant for those between 18 and 21. If you fall between those two ages and say "pistol," no ammo for you. They can buy rifle ammo, but not pistol ammo.
I told them the opposite on purpose because I was annoyed at the question. :). Thanks for the info - I do remember seeing some sign like that in the store, but didn't know that was why they asked. Unfortunately, I'm a good number of years past both 18 and 21, so it wouldn't have mattered for me anyway.

Back when ammo was still either scarce or expensive or both, I went into a WalMart and they actually had 2 of the 500 round spam cans of .223 in the case that were $120 apiece. I asked the girl running the sporting goods circus about them and she told me she could not sell them to anyone. I asked why and she told me that when the 2 cans came in, they didn't get the UPC labels with them. Because they didn't have the UPC number or barcode for them, she was unable to ring them up. She said they had been there for months and that people were constantly trying to buy them, but without the UPC labels, it was impossible to scan them or ring them up. She basically said that they weren't able to look them up in the system, and unless/until they got some more in with the UPC codes on them, they wouldn't be able to sell them. I asked her if I could buy them if I could find the right UPC code for them and she told me that if I had the correct UPC code, then she should be able to print new labels and then ring them up. So, I pulled out my phone, located the correct UPC code, and gave it to her. She then ran it through the register a few times (it rejected it a couple of times, because apparently, on some products, you don't enter either the first or the last number or both of the UPC code when you do it manually) and the register finally took it. She then went and printed the labels and sold me both cans.

I was in Walmart one night about 8:45, back when 9mm was scarce. They have 3 boxes on the shelf and I wanted them for the the next day at the range. As luck would have it, nobody at the sporting goods counter so they called this door all over from electronics . I told him what I wanted and he looked at his watch, it was 9:05, and he told me that it was against state law for him to sell them to me after 9pm. I told him it might be WallyWorld policy but it was certainly not state law. He actually argued with me over it. I went to the asst manager and ask him to sell them to me. He didn't have the keys and told me to come back in the morning after 7am, which I did and low and behold, they were gone! I was so pissed! I haven't bought ammo in there since!
That employee probably bought it

I hardly go to Wally World anymore. I get a bulk of the groceries from Aldi's, T.P. from Big Lot's (the looks I get with 2 carts full of TP is funny), specialty food items from Food Lion, and try to buy locally on the firearms and ammo. I'd rather wait for a shipment of ammo then buy it from Wal-Mart. Kinda getting sick of their shit.
