WASR10 for $300?

A friend of a friend is selling his WASR10 with some mags for $300. He is funding another project and from what I gathered has a few other AKs as well. I'm pretty new to the rifle scene. I've done some minimal research, though. If this WASR has ALL the common problems, is it still worth the $300? (Worst case scenario) Would it be easy to "modernize?" as in throw on an aftermarket stock, pistol grip, and front end?

Why does AK furniture seem so hard to find :( Can anyone recommend a website?

Edit: It seems searching for "ak stock" instead of "ak47 stock" helps ;)

I'm thinking about a folding skeleton stock, any recommendations otherwise?
You can go with a surplus Romanian/East German/Polish wire side folder. Those bolt directly onto the fixed stock rear trunnion. If you want something a bit more ergonomic, you can go with an ACE style block and an ACE sidefolder, and Manticore Arms is making these, which also use the ACE folding hinge block:

Well I got it finally. Sight isn't canted. Very little magazine wobble. Barrel looks unfired. Already got some furniture on it. Now I'm looking at optics. What's the general consensus in mounting a red on on the foregrip vs an attached top rail?

Sneak peak!
