Ok then.....we'll do one here as well....how about that? Since most of you once were CSF members and helped us get our start, I think you should be in on a giveaway as well. Here's the deal....first 10 "appropriate" responses will be accepted, ONLY 10, there will be one winner. Once those ten are posted, I will create a poll.....(if I can figure that out, LOL) and as members come through the thread, they can vote in the poll for the best one.

This was originally an idea on our Facebook page for hitting the 700 fan mark.....but it's now here as well.

No "g-string bikini" or posts like that....must be related to survival, hunting, fishing, guns.

Here's the post on FB....it can kinda spin off of that on here, same idea....with a change, 10 instead of 5, your odds are better.

Ok, here's how we are going to do the giveaway. Post here with your best, most creative use of paracord. We will go through the entries and pick the best 5. We will then make a post here on our wall of those 5. The visitors to the page will get to choose the winner by picking the use they like best and clicking the like button. I will make a post and the entries will be listed under that in the traditional FB way...just like whichever you think is best. Please do not add or respond to the post so it doesn't get too cluttered. The contest will start being voted on once 10 entries have been received and the top 5 chosen.

I always keep some paracord floating around in my hunting bag. I went into my hunting spot early one morning this past season and somehow misplaced the spikes for my pop up blind. I positioned my blind between two trees. I tied two opposite corners to the treesusing a standard overhand knot, and then placed sticks in the ground and tied the other two corners to them using slip knots. Wasn't pretty, but kept me from getting rained on that morning. Didn't kill anything that day, but I wasn't going to let inconveniences stop me from enjoying myself!

I have several feet of it wrapped around the barrel of my M6 Scout rifle. For one, this rifle has no handguards so a lot of shooting will equal really warm hands.
Also, if I am ever out somewhere and need to create a snare trap or shelter, it's there. And I can keep my boot laces....or make some if necessary.

Made this last week. The outer part is about 48' of chord, one piece. The tippet holder is a separate piece. I transitioned from a spiral braid to a flat weave for the neck. More comfortable. It's blue camo so it even looks fishy. Which is a plus for a fly fishing lanyard.

I don't have a picture since it is long gone now, but I used to have a dog collar made out of it for my lab.

The dog tag was actually an engraved bottle opener.

It was cool and it was tough, and the bottle opener around her neck made my dog veeeery popular on camping trips.

The weak spot was the clasp. At some point it must have gotten caught on something and the clasp must have broken. Looked for it forever but never found it again.

Would love to have another one of those.

*****Edit****

This isn't mine but it was similar to this one. A matching leash would have been badass. I actually made a leash from rappel rope for it, but it didn't match color wise.

We make collars a lot like that along with a matching color leash....our collars are adjustable as well, your dream can be realized again...LOL

My son is an officer in a small town SE of CHT. He carries a length of paracord when checking local business doors late at night. If (when, actually) he finds one unlocked, he opens the door, slips a loop of cord around one ear of the lock handle, closes the door, and yanks on the cord. Voila...locked door without calling the owner for the key.

Don't know where he learned that trick, but his LT didn't even know it.

The status is that it slipped my mind...and I forgot. Will add it to "the list" for this week.
