Had a 308 built with a CF barrel, Manners LR Hunter stock. It sets at 4 lbs.14 oz. The scope I want since I have 2 others on heavy rifles (zco 4-20) weighs 34 oz. I can go with the leupold mk 5 HD 3.6 to 18 which is 8 ounces lighter. The zco performance is great and I like leupold but will the 8 ounces make a difference on this rifle that I will hunt with?

I’m assuming that you built it for hunting in the mountains?
Light weight is great for humping up and down mountains, but not great if you should have to take an offhand shot. I would look through a lot of scopes, and find the clearest, lightest one I could find. I’ve been to gun shops and looked through pairs of scopes, and found that even though they are supposed to be the same scopes, one would sometimes be outstanding, whereas the other would suck
