If I may ask how did they shoot? I'm just getting into reloading. Got the same bullets from Lucky13. I emailed Alliant for the recommended recipe for 9mm and they replied 4gr min and 4.5 max.

Not at all. Of course I was shooting full sized pistols. I may run a few through the LC9 to see if I can tell any difference.

Sunday afternoon I pulled the 41 Mag dies out and loaded up 100rds while all the women took a nap. 210gr LSWC over 9gr of Unique. It also reminded me of how much I want a powder measure and how much it would speed up loading my hot magnum loads.

 

Sized and de-primed around 600 .45 brass I had ordered. Then primed 300 in preparation to load em up tonight.

 

worked out 100 rnds of 8 mm Remington Magnum with compressed loads and 150 gr Spitzers..

I'm motivated by the visual and the sound when I pull the trigger--resembles the U.S.S. Missouri firing on Okinawa !

Strange that they replied with 4 - 4.5 grains. Handloads.com recommends 5.4 grains starting load using Unique and the source is Alliant.

I checked my books and 5.2 starting load in one, 5.4 in the other.

Like you, I am new to reloading. Its confusing and frustrating to me to find conflicting info...especially when one list 4.5 max...then another 6.0 max....that's a big difference. I usually go with published loads in books..and often check the internet...but never trust internet alone. Everything on the net is true right??? If alliant gave you that data. I would try it. If your gun does not cycle well...then maybe go up to the published data.

Reloading newbie here! I recently purchased a gently-used Dillon 550B press to do .45ACP. Yesterday I spent all day reorganizing my shop and setting up my reloading bench and work area. I have a very heavy wooden bench with separate wall mounted shelf unit that I will be using. Right now I am struggling with where exactly on the bench that I want to bolt the press down, but will finalize that in the next couple of days. Once completely set-up I'll take/post some pics. Looking forward to getting this thing in to "full production mode"!

 

Built a second drum for my wet tumbler, with spiral lifters inside. The first drum has parallel lifters and generates a rhythmic throb when the brass is falling inside the drum. Haven't gotten to test it yet...maybe tonight.
