I know ive had higher than normal blood pressure readings at some recent doctor visits but I was woken up this morning feeling super super ancy, kinda nervous like. I'm sitting in my car at church and it still hasn't gone away. Almost like a nervous, unexpected feeling. My heartbeat feels like its gonna blow through my ribs.

When I was diagnosed with hypertension I felt dizzy, had a headache and nausea. I didn't know if I was gonna passout, puke or both. Like drums said that sounds like anxiety. Best to have a doc check you out.

You usually don't "feel" high blood pressure, it may give you a headache if it's really high. Could be some sort of anxiety, but anxiety don't usually last long. tingling/cramping in your hands/feet is a telltale sign in bad anxiety attacks. For some reason your heart rate is up there, there could be lots of reasons, get it checked. Any time someones heart is doing something out of the ordinary, I recommend getting it checked, now, not later.

I was told for years that I was borderline hypertensive and diabetic. A bp check at work showed my numbers at 240/150. I was sent to the ER, and even there I was told that the only thing they could think of was drug use. I saw a doc later and was put on medication. All this ended in a heart attack and five bypasses.

My advice: Go see a heart specialist and get a proper diagnosis while you still can. If you have to, use your own money. Don't play with a GP too long.

My hypertension was asymptomatic. It can cause headaches and vision problems but it doesn't always.

Your describing an anxiety attack. Try things to relax yourself, and seek a doctor as soon as you get a chance.
Although if your having any chest discomfort, seek a doctor / hospital immediately to be on the safe side, especially if this is something that has never happen to you before.

Just remember the correct answer to the question "I don't own any guns and despise the fact that anyone would think they need one or that a gun would deserve a place in our society" :)

Get well soon!

He's also describing an arrhythmia, thyroid problems, glucose-control problems, neurological problems.

My money is on a transient rapid heartbeat, be it atrial fib/flutter or just a sinus tachycardia. In any case, get checked out. High blood pressure is called the "silent killer" for a reason, so you cannot rule that out until you rule it out.

Get a home BP machine. Also see if it goes away/happens when you eat/drink. I have a sister in law the gets that way a few hours after drinking alcohol, even if it is just a single B&J. She isn't drunk, just messes with her BP

I was put on high blood pressure medication last spring. I'm 54. I hadn't had a doctor's checkup in years, but would occasionally check it at those do-it-yourself stands in the drugstore. I've been borderline for years.

I feel no different on the medication than I did before, although it is now in normal range. Unless you're EXTREMELY high, you won't "feel" high blood pressure. What you're describing I've felt if I've had too much coffee too fast, or too many red bulls.

High blood pressure oft times has NO SYMPTOMS. It can be caused by obesity, diet, substance abuse, heredity, and a myriad of other possibilities.

Sadly I had a heart attack 6 years ago and I got schooled at the school of hard knocks - I have a genetic predisposition for it.Your symptoms scream ----GO TO A DOCTOR .

Your symptoms could be indicative of hypertension ,allergy, medicinal reaction , and dozens of other possibilities.

Solution ? Go get CHECKED out! Get yourself evaluated! I am 56 - I-(as us bad assed , it is just a bruise go ''shake it off '') guys are wont to do think we are invincible. So I ignored stuff for years and had a heart attack cause I was too effin ''male '' to admit I had a problem.

Now I tote around 6 stents in my heart and legs . Just don't dick around , and don't friggin ask this lot- go to a doctor.
