Mine was a single shot shotgun (I can’t even remember the brand) but I remember it was called the silver hunter. Super cheap is the only reason I bought it, didn’t have any money then I just wanted to buy a gun when I turned 18, I believe it was $129.99 at the bargain barn in Jasper. That thing would just about kill you every time you pulled the trigger. I tried finding them online and I can’t find them, I remember it was made in Turkey though. What was all y’all’s first purchases?

edit: it was a TR imports silver eagle 12 gauge youth. I can’t find one that looks like mine but it’s stainless, all I see now is blued.

First I ever bought myself was a wood stock 12 ga Remington 870, 21" barrel.
Got my first gun in 1977, an H&R 490 Topper Jr 20 ga. Never could hit much with it. A couple years ago I dug it out and took it to a gunsmith. He found the barrel bent the last 3 inches and it would cost more to fix than it was worth. My reply, it's sentiment so it's priceless. He cut it back to 21.5" and threaded it for Remington chokes. Shoots great now, patterns perfectly centered. Still have both guns.

Mine was an Anderson AR-15 roughly 7-8 years ago. I was 21-22. Gave $425 for it. I kept it for around 3 months or so I believe it was and had a buddy of mine offer me a 2005 Honda CR85, which was my first ever Dirt Bike and if you've ever had one you know that's it's not exactly a bike for a, back then 150lbs soaking wet with rocks in my pockets, to learn how to ride on. So naturally, I traded it for a Yamaha Raptor 350 then traded it for a KTM 125sx that ended up needing the top end rebuilt. Posted it, got an offer bout an hour later from a guy and he offered a Remington Model 700 7mm with a $350 Leupold, TC Encore 7mm also w a $350 Leupold, a Diamondback AR-15 and a Mossberg 500E pump 410. Sold 3 of them for $2200 and kept the Mossberg and still have it to this day.

Now, I'm severely addicted to trading/bartering. That one $450 AR to $2200+ a badass 410 shotgun, that will be passed to my 4yo son on his next bday, transaction was all it took to catch that high lol.

Got a little sidetracked there, but the morale of the story is; trading/bartering is a pretty damn cool hobby!!! [emoji41]

14 yrs. old
rode my spyder bike to Western Auto with my buddy
Got a Revelation .22 bolt action, tubular magazine. Shoots short, long, and long rifle
Because it resembled my father's that he got from Sears in Missouri
Didn't need to sign papers, perhaps because I cut the owner's grass!?!
Still have it... best $46 ever spent
I have the Sears model also since my father passed this past year
They are nearly twins, both manufactured by Marlin, I believe.
Great shooters both of them

1st gen. S&W model 659. I had it ten years and sold it in a pinch. I kicked myself in the butt for that decision. One of the nicest semi auto's I have owned. It was built like a tank, accurate and reliable.

Winchester 120 Ranger pump 12ga. Shot a Turkey with the Savage 24 my dad gave me on my 16th bday in 20ga/22mag, and he got up. Figured I needed a bigger gun. Still have the Ranger and the Savage almost 50 years later.
