Tokarev or Makarov. Hi-Point is supposed to have exceptional customer service but second-hand information regarding their reliability is 50/50.

 

But I really want something with a laser on it.

i have a 380 and 9mm hi point that i keep in th vehicles. i have tried to jam them and never have. i got $198 in them both. cheap and if they get stolen, i'm not out much

 

Either Cz82 or a tokarev. Both are good shooters.

Occasionally a PF-9 sells used for $200. You can hang a laser on that.

What would be the best rock for the money? Would just any garden variety rock suffice or should I get one of the more tactical models?

And what about for zombies? What works best on those? Probably green....right?

I'd go with a Bulgarian Makarov if I could only spend $200. Or maybe a Tokarev, I wouldn't go anywhere near a HiPoint.

 

I'd have to agree with Makarov. If you want something more modern, you can find a SCCY CPX-2 for just over $200 brand new. I'd imagine you could find one used for less.

 

to keep it under $200 it would be a pointed stick with an NC Star laser!

I can say I own a Hi-Point .45ACP. Let me begin by saying I did not purchase it, I took the weapon on trade a while back. The rest of the trade was fair, but the Hi-Point just added to my benefit. It's heavy, bulky, ugly, etc. The trigger is horrible- its just a chunk of plastic. It has a decent set of sights on it. I find it to be accurate, and I've never had a single malfunction from it. It's not a weapon I shoot often. I've probably only put 200 rounds through it. I think for a beginner on a budget, that doesn't care about his peers' opinions, its a decent pistol. Would I go buy another? probably not. Would I take another on trade? Maybe so.

I concur. I had one that I could not destroy. It was bigger than a power drill, but it went bang everytime and the rounds went where I wanted them to go. Sold it to fund something else, otherwise I'd still have it.

Hi-Point C9. I don't have one now, but I have owned them. Worked every time. They are like Mo-Peds . . . they are a lot fun, but you don't want your friends to see you with one.
