I am tired of my Wii, it is a great tool for streaming netflix content but I want to get into some better games and I know I will have to upgrade to a new gaming system.....so can anyone tell methe pro and cons of XBox vs Ps3?

I will probably get into online gaming and specifically I am looking forward to the new "SpaceMarine" game being released by Relic/GamesWorkshop later this month. This system will be for me, not something either of my daughters are interested in so please let me know your thoughts...

Thanks...

Xbox 360 hands down.

Ive had one since they first came out and while you will get people that argue that the PS3s graphics are better and that PlayStationNetwork is free, Ill say it was so free it got hacked!!

I had a PS3 for a while and ended up selling it simply because I didnt want a $300 BluRay player. I had only two games that I played and only one was a PS3 exclusive.

Xbox Live is head and shoulders above even Sony's pay content PSN.

But... but... the RED RING OF DEATH! My 360 just red ringed last month (after 4 years of faithful service), and the warrenty expired. I also have the "halo 3 edition", so there would be no way I'd send it in anyway.

Anyway, that's the only bad thing about those, is their crappy construction. Luckily I'm kinda tech savvy so I know how to fix it.

But I don't know much about the PS3, so I can't offer a decent opinion. Sorry.

The red ring issue has been fixed on the new 360s starting 2 years ago, its not a issue anymore. My original 360 red ring'd out of warranty, bought a new one a year ago and have had no issues from it.

Pros, I find Xbox Live to be more stable/reliable than the PS3 network. You do pay for that stability and reliability though.

Pros for the PS3 is it comes with Blu-Ray (not sure if that makes a difference to you or not)

They both have built-in wireless now, both have HDMI, etc, etc. Both do Hulu and Netflix. The Xbox has ESPN on it now, not sure if the PS3 does that though.

Call of Duty on Xbox gets map packs a month before PS3

I personally have been totally happy with my Xbox, considering how much time I spend on it I don't mind paying for Xbox Live.
