I see pictures of little bucks, (spikes, forks, basket racks) on here all the time. Why do people continue to kill them? Your not going to mount them and if the meat is all you want, why not kill a doe?

I really don't care if it is your first deer .... doe are for meat ... Let the babies grow.

Rant over ..... :p
Cause you can, it is legal, it is hunting season, and meat is meat, no way to eat the horns.....

If you want to raise deer, get a farm and raise deer on a high fence property or just raise some critters with big horns, go get you a few bulls........

If you want to hunt? Hunt what you want and then let others hunt what they want... Just keep it legal...

You know,

One thing to add, I always try to shoot small deer, doe if I can but if I only have a chance for a buck, big or small, I will take it.

But one thing for sure, every time someone rants about people killing legal deer, I make it a point to use a buck tag for them...

So Tailhunter, I will burn one for you, heck I got 4 to use.... But one for your rant and will post a pic of a cow horn for you.......

Have fun, hunt legal and safe.

Pass the standards down also. I commend you on giving back thru your plots and supplements. I also would like to see people pass things down to their kids that will keep the tradition alive. We may not always have it as good as we do now. Just to be able to run your yap about how you killed "your buck" or filled "your buck" tag .... is it really that big of a deal. If you have a hard time killing deer in this state maybe you'd better take up golf. Teach your young hunters to respect the land and their quarry ..... is it so hard to pass one up.
Make that two cow horn tags for you sir.......

Keep running your yap about what you think hunting should be about......
Back it up in the rule books if you want...

I would guess that the CWD outbreak in several Northwestern NC region counties alone last year killed more button bucks than the rest of the Northwestern regions's "brown and down" hunters combined.
.
No CWD in NC that I know of.
Care to point it out with a link of it if your say it happened?

ehd. similar to blue tongue in cattle, et al. Friend of mine in Wilkes said hundreds were found in creeks up there.
Correct, big difference in the two.
