Bottom line, when you pull the trigger, they go bang. Alot of people on the internet want to talk trash, but Glock's work. Some people don't like the lack of manual safety, but keep your finger off of the trigger and it won't fire. Some people want to talk up the kaboom issues, but they are rare and blown out of proportion when they happen.

Here is my experience with non-Glocks:
1. I bought Caleb a S&W M&P for USPSA competition. After about 200 rounds the main block pin started walking out of the frame. It took red Locktite to fix it. None of my Glocks have any red Locktite in them.

2. We constantly work on FTF and FTE problems on the M&P. My Glocks will eat and eject anything. Any ammo, any load, any weather condition.

3. I bought my first 1911 on this forum. It has about 1500 rounds through it. The first problem was the rear sight kept walking off – red Locktite fixed that. My Glocks have no red Locktite in them.

4. I just got the 1911 back from a gunsmith last week for the 2nd problem. I had to have the plunger tube re-staked to the frame. The safety became locked “on” due to the problem. None of my Glocks – one of which has 9400 (almost 10,000) rounds through it - have ever been to a gunsmith – or a Glock Armorer. I honestly don’t know how those guys make any money.

5. I own a Beretta Neos and I hate it – enough said.

6. A very good friend of mine loves Springfield XDs. Springfield’s customer service reps know him by name. I have never returned a Glock for service or warranty nor do I even know how to do that.

7. Caleb and I shoot USPSA twice per month and today we shot our second Glock match.
We have never shot a S&W M&P match nor a Springfield 1911-A1 match, nor any other manufacturer specific match. You may boast despairingly that Glocks are from Austria but they are also from Smyrna, GA – USA.

I love my Glocks. They go “bang” every time we pull the trigger and if we line the sights up correctly, they make a hole in the center of the target – every time - no matter what we do to them or feed them.

i may have even posted it on a recent thread here...but...

ive owned, carried and shot everything from a colt commander, HK USP compact tacticool uber heiss schiess, walthers, sigs and cz's and others...

my favorite fighting tool is the glock...it goes bang every time i pull the trigger, i can stomp on it and roll in the dirt with it...and it still goes bang.

for folks who moan the grip angle is wrong/different/uncomfortable...i say wtf-ever..the front sights align with the rear and the target is still in front of the muzzle just like all the others...you have an opposable thumb for a reason..use it to align the sights.

they are not pretty to look at... but it is pretty much a perfect fighting tool in my humble opinion.

Maybe a better question would be...

Why do so many people want to talk so much junk about Glocks? I know people who can shoot the everlasting sheeyit out of them and that's fine.

Personally, I don't care for them. I recognize they are fine firearms. But I wouldn't care if I never saw another one.

They just ain't for me.

I'm sure WWI, WWII, Korean and Vietnam war veterans would gladly point out to you that you are kindly mistaken and no piece of "plastic" would have ever been allowed into a real soldiers hands. lol

I've always wondered why Glock wouldnt make a pitch to the armed forces?

Glock is used by many militaries.

The American military(ies) do not have a habit out of choosing the best tool for the job.

European forces pretty much though. Hell of course the Austrian army uses them cause they are the ones that approached Glock in the first place.

I would say that we choose our tools well. Reason I know this is because we aren't speaking German right now...

I like glocks. I own 2 and have owned 4 others. Someone in another thread requested a thread in which he could tell why glocks suck.
He (garandman) will probably be joining soon.

jcornss, I love your sig line. Loved the SW series and Padame was (unfortunately) correct.
You know, I've never been a big SW fan. I saw the first 3, well last 3 I guess when I was a kid and liked them. Not to the point of obsession, but liked them. I didn't see the newer ones until a few months ago when all 3 were on TBS or some channel. They were good, but that line and the story line in general really got to me. That is exactly what is going on in politics today.

We aren't speaking German because the US doesn't like to commit forces to a war until it has been fought by others for many years and are exhausted and their economies are drained.

As for who uses Glocks...

OK

For all those people that have those Glocks that S$&% I will be glad to take them off you hands I will pay current scrap metal prices + 20 dollars.

Have owned 15 and never had one problem. My oldest is a first gen LEO gun that has had 1,000 upon 1,000 of rounds threw it and keeps ticking.

I can't remember ever having a stoppage of any kind with any of the glocks I have owned. I attended my first idpa match today (didn't shoot). There were as many, maybe more glocks than 1911's. I also saw a few sigs and couple of XDs. If glocks suck, why do so many competitive shooters use them? I doubt glock is giving all these guys free guns to compete with. They have many choices in the same price range.

Its like the Blue koolaid syndrome. You aint cool unless you shoot a Glock.

Just kidding, I have never been a big fan of Glocks, not for their lack of perfomance just never felt good in my hand. I have a M&P and have yet to have a failure of any type. I loved mine so much I bought the 9L.

Glocks get the job done, I personally don't like the way they feel in my hand. I have honestly never heard anyone that has one complain about them.

Its like women, some like them big, some like them skinny

Oh goody, a Glock vs. 1911 discussion. How original!

They are both fine weapons. On a personal level, the only Glock I like is the 36 due to the grip profile. I've owned a 17 and 19, they both had the grip profile of a 2x4. I'm not saying they aren't built well, the grip just isn't for me. They were both very reliable. The only 1911 I've owned that gave me any problems was my Kimber Stainless II. After a couple of trips to the factory, they made it right. Ironically, my Norinco 1911 (paid $125 for it a longgggg time ago) has been 100% since day one and will eat anything you feed it including SWC and it's had no mods.

That being said, there is one area that the Glocks will never come close to the 1911's in...the trigger.

It's not a 1911 vs glock discussion. I was simply stating what I saw today. I have a 1911 and glocks. I like them all for different reasons. I like to use the 1911 when I feel like caressing beautifully crafted stainless steel and drilling the center clean out of a silhouette target. I like to use the glocks when I need something to go bang everytime and anytime my gun may experience "rough" handling.
