I have alot of sea salt mix, used for marine aquariums, that is not suitable for use in tanks with fish. It was not blended with the correct amount of buffers and trace elements so it will not maintain the correct pH or kH. However it would make a fine base for a livestock salt lick block.
So my question is how do I make a block? There has got to be some material to add as a binder / glue to hold it all together. What about a flavoring or sweetener?
I would rather make blocks as opposed to just dumping it into an old rotted tree stump.
Thanks in advance

My advice would be to just dump it on the ground. Maybe put a commercial salt block on top of the pile of loose salt. I've seen holes dug in the ground 1-2 ft deep with deer digging after the loose mineral salt in the dirt long after the salt block is gone.

Don't buy the little bitty 5lb salt blocks in walmart or gander mtn either. Go to a farm supply store and buy a 25 lb block of mineral salt for like 4-5 bucks.
