Its $6.25 per- 50rnds.

Its the new going rate. Most of the stuff you see for sale now is legacy ammunition that was manufactured in 2012 & 2014 that dealers held onto for this year. This ammunition is manufactured in 2014. Some of the other 22lr from distributors was sold as a package deal. Buy X amount of 22lr guns and you can buy X amount of 22lr to go with it.

For us, we had this in the works for a while and this is the 2nd shipment to us, and the first we put on the retail market.

Brass cased. It shoots pretty good. I still like CCI Std but I have used this for the PRS match at DPRC and it did well. This is a good deal for Std velocity, can friendly ammo. I would be up for a couple K if we put together enough guys who don't want a full 5k case.

Thanks John for doing this.

Thanks for the answer john ill wait.
Yes sir, free market rules supreme. If you want it get it, if not see how it shakes out in the long run.

cranbiz,

I am ( as in ME ) willing to work with anyone on this, but the buying needs to be single point to be fair to my employer if its a group buy. After it is bought it can be divided up as needed. I can deliver one load of it at any location between my ideal triangle of Pinehurst to Greensboro to RDU.

Let me know guys.

Just an FYI for those who may want to know.
It cost the same for ammunition manufacturers to tool up for production of 22 LR as it does 9mm or .45 cal. They tool up just for specific runs that are ordered. And, $6.25 per- 50rnds is a good price. (No affiliation with John and War Sport).

"Its the new going rate"

Not slamming your price or your thread - just curious about this statement and why you/people seem to think it is ok. I don't remember the price of lead or brass increasing 200% in the days since Sandy Hook. I believe someone is getting rich at our expense... "tooling up" has nothing to do with it.

You would really be shocked at the price CSC Club Subscribed gets.

Sir,

People have been getting rich off your back every time you buy a product since you spent your first dime. Like it or not it's how a capitalist market works. So my question to you is support the local company like us or not. It's up to you.

We are in a free market sir.

like it? Then buy it. Think it's too high pass and buy something else at a different price.

Actually lead has doubled in price over the last 5 years. And with the closing of the last major smelters in the US refined lead will have to be shipped in so the price will go higher as supplies dry up. Copper has doubled as well. Demand is higher than production, govco is sure as h$ll not going to subsidize ammo cost for the masses, everything is lined up for price increases.

Ammo pricing was creaping up even before our buddy Barry's election, more afterwards, even more after re-election and the shooting scares. Right now demand is high, so $5 a box for SV is a good deal. Even after demand drops more (and it has been dropping) I would be surprised to see it go under $4 a box for SV just regular pricing, and some places wanting to take a loss for the traffic maybe in the $3 range.

I'm not that old and I used to load up on $12 bricks when I was a kid, sadly it looks like I'll be excited to find $30 bricks anytime in the near future.

I call bullshit on that. No one is tooling up and changing over to run 22lr runs. It's different machinery altogether. If you're making 22 you're just making 22 on those machines. It's not like shutting down the 9mm line to run 380. Also the material cost is nothing in comparison to centerfire. They may be running 45 to-order, but 22 is running round the clock...

As to this thread on this 22lr...

The price is not good. Period. Nothing against WarSport. I'm a fan. Love their products. Love me some Boyette too. Has nothing to do with it. This is the best price they can do, fine. It's available. That's something right now. The new standard? No chance I believe that. Big box stores set the standard. Not smaller outfits like WarSport. It's about buying power. A brick of Fed Bulk is still around $20 when in stock most places. That's 4cents +/- and it's not a legacy price, whatever that means. 22lr has more than doubled in the last 10years just like everything else. This "inflation catching up" concept I keep hearing is silly too. Bottom line, when someone shops for 22 they don't think, "Hmm wonder what the market is like right now, lemme check WarSport to get a feel for it." But with demand as it is, just having it in stock is worth a premium to folks who need it now or don't want to bother hunting for good deals. It's just like anything else really...

I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer. But .125 x 5000 is 625.
Sorry,

I did that on my phone, math that is, you are correct..

I agree that the price is what it is. I nor is anyone else forcing anyone to buy it.

but in 6 months see what happens and we might be high, we might be low, or even spot on. We will see.

I love responding to posts like yours. If you look at your own graph
for copper/brass, the price has actually declined since Sandy Hook (12/14/2012). I said nothing about the "last five years"...

I can't comment about the price of lead you posted because the link would never load...

Yep, it is a free market. Again, I have no problem with your price or your post - just stating the facts. I am a mechanical design engineer with 30+ years experience in industry. I know all about profit margins and the data that goes into the formula. These prices are inflated. period. Not saying you are ripping anybody off, but you choose to buy at those prices just like the rest of us choose to buy your retail prices. I choose not because eventually they will come down if enough people feel the same way as me and Sheepdog...

I can't speak for the quality of the Mexican ammo. But I just spent 39.99 plus tax for a 500 round brick of cci standard. So he is line with the market. It's just the way it is now.
Like gas...... There is absolutely no reason for us to be paying 3.30 a gallon. But we are. Get over it, this guy has it.... If you want it buy it, if not move on and quit crying about. or stop shooting .22. JC!!!!!!!!!!!!!
