There may be some hope after all. FINALLY some SENSIBLE legislation. In Michigan of all places. Didn't they just do that right-to-work thingy?

Anyway, check this out....

Not to say that a licensed, legal CWP holder on premises at Sandy Hook Elementary WOULD have made a difference, but COULD have. A LOT of mass shootings could have been stopped if not for law abiding citizens honoring the "gun free zone" laws and postings. I'm not condoning breaking any laws. And for the record, I choose to avoid GFZ's like the plague.

There is a small district in TX near OK border that allows its staff to carry on premises with permit and training. Small community, but so is Newtown, CT.

Ive heard of that too. Wish someone round here had some sense.

The big difference in the number for the police versus citizen thing is that the police get there after the fact and most time the citizen is right there in the middle of it. The police can't prevent these kinds of crimes, they show up after things have started or even after it's over. Just look at the Portland Mall shooting, CWP holder may have very well been the key to that not having been a bloodbath. The article of his engaging the shooter but not getting a clear shot was on a local Portland TV News station. The shooter saw him and took off, did shoot one more person and then took his own life. Of course the story of a responsible citizen gun owner and permit holder never made the National news as it didn't meet the "agenda" for gun control.
