Y'all better be thanking the good Lord that you don't live in the Communist County of Guilford!!!! The state allows the counties 90 days and the Commies controlling Guilford now are mandating they take the full 90 days!!! I reapplied for my CCWP on Oct. 5 and have yet to recieve it. I called on day 69 and the lady said, "You know it takes 90 days don't you?" BS!!!
I said, "I thought it was 60 or 75 days?"
She said, "No, It takes 90 days." Again, BS!!!!
I know one of the guys that took the class when I did 5 years ago lives in Alamance and had his permit in 2 weeks!!!

So I'd like to take this time to send a great big thank you out to all those imports who helped vote in the idiots in control here in Guilty County!!!!(insert smilie hoking up a luggie here)

They'll never know your dissatisfaction unless you write the county reps and sheriff.

But if it were me, I'd probably wait until after I received my CHP lol.

That isn't correct. HB650 changed the time period to 45 days, AFTER all the background checks are returned to the SO. The upturn in demand may be the reason they're pushing out to 90 days, but they legally have only 45.

Having said that, a man and wife that took my class a couple of weeks ago turned their apps in at the Wake SO last Friday. The clerk told them to expect a 90 day wait as well.

I asked the deputy who does all the permit stuff if the turnaround time ad gone up and he said no.

Also got my wife signed up for her class this month. That's two teachers.....not to mention the other two in her grade level taking the class with her.

Yep, I got notified on the 90th day, that I needed to set my appointment with the Gu Co Sheriff's office. A buddy that took the course at the same time called 60 days in and was told that they hadn't even started the background and mental history checks yet. And for the record, I get the impression our Sheriff doesn't give a damn about the CCW's in the county. My understanding is that we're lucky to get those, and there's no point of trying for Class 3 credentials as he will not sign off...not sure if NFA or registering a SBR has to be blessed by the Sheriff or not, but I'm guessing those are a long shot too.

Mecklenburg Co. Isn't much better. 30 days for an appointment to start the renewal process, I'm now 60 days into the 90 day wait.

But, I cheer up when I hear about gun registration in Durham Co.
When I originally got my CHP, I was also in Mecklenburg Co. Having since moved to Stanly Co, I'm sure I'll see much more reasonable wait times for renewals. A recent trip to the DMV in Albemarle had me wait all of 5 minutes before I saw the officer and another 10 minutes I was out the door with my updated CDL (complete with new picture).

Took about 30 days, but they boogered my name so it took another 10.

Turned in my application this morning. Lady said 45-90 days. I'm in Wake Co.

But I've also heard people in Wake say they got theirs in a month....so who knows.
Wake has been taking 4 to 6 weeks lately.

Mecklenburg has been taking ~4 months. I had a student turn in his on 12/31 and they told him they were currently processing 2715 CHP applications in Mecklenburg.
