I was just wondering if there are any recommendations for a shop that has a great selection of C&R rifles? I'm in Asheboro, and wouldn't mind driving an hour or so.

I'm mostly looking for Lee Enfields FWIW.

Hey didn't know you were in Asheboro in our PM's! I live over in Ramseur.

Franks sometimes has a C&R or two. I think he had an Enfield last time I was there. IDK what he does there but his store was never much, but it seems to be even less now.

Silver Dollar in Ramseur usually has a few C&Rs. THere was a non refurbed all matching 1943 M44 theyhad in there for $170, I dicked around and now its gone. Ishould have atleast laid it away. They had a couple others including a mis-matched Romanian for $170. Np Enfields though.

There is Cherrys in Greensboro. www.cherrys.com they have many Enfields listed, although none look to be as good as a price vs. quality as the one that just got claimed on the trader forum

There is the Gun Rack in Kernersville that usually has one or two. There is some place in Colfax that I never been. Haven't been to Archdale Arms and Ammo in awhile.

I let my C&R expire but I really should get it back.

You shoot your C&Rs? You and I will have to sling some lead!

Not Anymore :(

I was really into C&Rs a few years ago, but I got into Evil Black Rifles. I gave away a matching M44, sold a (crappy) M91/30, sold a excellent K-31, and sold off a decent No4Mk1. :(

We can definitely shoot some vintage rifles once I have a good example of one.

Hell I got plenty of rifles. I can only shoot one at a time. My ammo seems to be running low though I think. If you get your own ammo you can shoot mine till your trigger finger falls off!
Sounds Good :D

Anyways, for the rest of the website I will also have to recommend Cherry's.

Here is the all matching #s No4Mk2 I picked up from them today. The Enfield looks a lot better in person than in the pictures:

I get over to Asheboro occasionally to visit a dear friend just off 49. Have been by Frank's several times. He says it is a great shop with a genuine gun nut for an owner. Maybe we can meet at the upcoming gathering in March or ours in April 24-26. wc

Honestly, I have the best luck with my C&R at pawn shops. Sounds strange I know but hit them about once a month or so. I found a like new FR-8, a Westinghouse M91, a nice GEW 98, not to mention other nice older guns like a couple of Winchester 67's and a older Marlin 39A. So often they have no idea what it;s worth, and they'll knock a few bucks off every time, especially if its been sitting in their inventory for a while. And they ALWAYS have some in the back not on display.

Get to know the managers of one or two in the area. It'll be worth your time.

I'm not really into the older rifles so I cant really judge too good on what they are worth but I was in there about a month ago and they had alot of older rifles. They had one in there that they were asking over $2,000 for that was in a revolving display case but I cant remember what it was.
